anyone ever try spraying a textured paint first (I know they're out there, mostly in black), then top coating it with argent?

do a test sample first, no one knows how paints will affect each other.

My guy used Krylon Dull Aluminum #1403 on a Coronet R/T and won the 67 B body class at Carlisle this year. I used it and it looks pretty good.

Try it and let me know what you think..

Mike at Alltrim is selling some of the last remaining NOS gallons he has leftover (hint, it's ULTRA rare). It's on ebay but if you plan to buy it you better get out your BIG wallet.

As far as anyone selling a good match, since NONE are an exact match opinions will vary on that one. A few of the better grille restoration guys have thier own formulas that are good enough to get pass OE judges, but most won't sell the paint, just the service (self included). Roger Gibson sells a respectable mix, you might try him. If you want something on the cheap the best bet is to go to a place like Ace Hardware, buy cans of all colors they sell and do a bit of experimenting.

I went this route with the GTX and couldn't be much happier with how it turned out.

Don't take my word for it, spend the $5 and try it for yourself

Ah...the big debate over Argent,...it'll always rage on ...I recently tried Totally Auto's newest "New" formulation of spray Argent, really has more texture this time, but IMHO this new "formula" has lost the "green" tinting the old formula had, which I liked, I compared the new spray out to some NOS argent pcs I have and the match appeared extremely close, I'm sure some experimentation with various colour changes in bases would yield different results..
