"I recently ran into major problems trying to use Goodmark's "Authentic Reproduction" Dodge B-Body outer wheelhousings on my 1969 Charger 500" What a joke. Mopar isn't worried that your part wont fit, they just want money from royalties paid by suppliers that want that "Authentic Reproduction" wording on their product. Heck, they probably dont even know what a wheelhouse is The AMD stuff I have used is awesome and is a great addition to our hobby.

xs29j8, Thanks for posting all that. Some of us that don't do a car a year would never notice those things until it was too late.
I hope the information does help someone, but this episode cost me a lot of $$$ which Goodmark is so far not stepping up to the plate to reimburse...
In addition to almost $300 for the outer wheelhousings (incl shipping), there is the body shop labor to install & remove the incorrect parts... about $450.
There are other expenses as well, and to fix the problem I had to use a wheelhousing intended for my Six Pack Charger... So now I have to find a replacement for that one.
Here is the used wheelhousing being removed from the '70 quarter panel:

Wow!Thanks for all the info XS.Im already on the list for their quarters.I called AMD today and told them to mark me down for a set of wheelhouses.Somebody replaced the trunk about 10 years ago and still looks good. The pictures of that trunk make me almost want to rip mine out and install the one piece.
I plan to send more pictures to AMD to show the problems encountered with the Goodmark "repro" parts, but I believe that they are going to get them right. Unlike the "Better Than Nothing" vendors, they actually do first First Acticle Inspections and test fits...
They final verdict will be known when the parts that I am getting from them are installed, but so far they have been a great company to work with... anf the trunk floor looks sooooo nice!
It was well packaged also...

Yes a one piece trunk floor can be installed with the 1/4's still on.I have done it.On a Charger,it can be done by removing the rear valance panel[which a Charger usually needs anyway],and removing the tailpanel which is actually easy on a Charger since it is welded on top of the 1/4's ends not under like other cars. I have installed the repro outer wheelhouses several times on B bodies. They are a real dissapointment. They look great until you try to fit them and they are way off. They fit much better if you leave the original pinchweld intact at the outer/inner wheelwell seam and splice the new outer about 1/2 inch on the outside of the pinchweld. That way you can adjust the position and don't disturb the original inner to outer pinchweld which is a continuous resistance weld.Plug welding the repro outer to the original inner opens up leakage issues. From what I have seen,AMD's panels all look way better than Goodmarks.

A better question is:
Can you install or at least "GET" the 1 piece trunk floor from AMD into the trunk with only the trunk lid removed?
or do you "Have" to remove the tailpanel?
Or as another option...
Could you "get" the 1 piece trunk floor (from AMD) into the trunk with the trunk removed and 1 quater panel removed...
or do you have to remove the tailpanel as well?
inquiring minds want to know!!!

Removing the taillight panel is definitely the best way to go, although a "side entry" approach might be possible if some of the backlight area supporting structure was dis-connected.
The picture below should show the problems with that approach...

Same work required here. Really slowed down the installation Lip needed to move in- Lip moved in- Lip needed to move up- Lip moved up- Pie cuts required- If I had it to do again I would leave the original lip attached to the car and splice in just enough of the new outerhousing as I needed, aligning the lip in the right place from the start.

Another view...
Looks like the AMD outer wheel houses are going to have the foward flange on it according to the pics.

I got tired of waiting on AMD for my wheelhouses so I ordered a set from the paddock and they almost look like the originals, they look nothing like ones you show but they still look like they are going to fit crappy.
