A good days racing was had on the 22nd November at the Nostalgia Drag Racing Association meet at Western Sydney International Dragway.
Over 220 competitors in 12 classes,Australian Muscle,American Muscle,Hot Rod,Hot Rod Outlaw,Vintage Gas,HAMBsters,Classic Bike,Gas,Slingshot,Junior Fuel,Outlaws and Exhibition.
The day opened with a little cloud cover but as SE Australia was experencing a heat wave it just got HOT.Track temp @ 8.15am was 98 degF,@1.00pm 135 degF,@3.00pm 123 degF.
Air temp was over 100 degF with a hot strong wind.
I compete in the US Muscle class,in a 68 Satellite 440ci,maximum ET of 11.00 cut off DYO.There was 40 qualifiers with my 11.558 being 6th fastest and Steve Reiman(SR440 on this board) being 2nd fastest with a 11.232 out of his 67 Dart,408SB.
This was a successful day for me personally and professionally,not only making the semi's and finals but i did the mechanical setup,auto conversion & motor build on Carl's 62 Belair ,i
also helped with Steve and Gregs cars.

If the green 69 Superbee looks familiar,it was purchased by Greg from Wayne(?)Smothers.Now all he needs is a quicker shift - but this was only his 2nd time at a drag strip.

the dana is unreal,thanks again DRDIFF.
it was a tough day but my et's held up till we had to hot lap the semi's and final,dropped over a 1/10 and 2 MPH
not as bad as you see Carl's 409,boiled the fuel
