Regarding the disc brake stuff, don't think you'll end up spending as I much as had to (under the unique circumstances), we can try and figure soemthing out together, if you want to. Otherwise, glad to hear there is some progress.

Ran, I appreciate the offer. Gotta figure out the budget for the chrome and all the little parts I need to replace when reassembling. Looking at ~400 for body seals ~400 per bumper chrome X 2 ~400 for grille chrome ? for the rest of the chrome (emblems, handles, pop out window parts and polish the pie pans) I cringe to think of the dash bezel, shifter bezel, and dash strip. The shifter handle is riveted into the shifter too. ? on Windshield glass ~150 for belts, hoses and misc. on the engine ~400 for exhaust ? to shorten driveshaft ? doghouse insulation New brake hoses, battery cables, battery, and a bunch of little stuff. Still have to buy paint stuff too. Figure easily ~1500 with the blasting soda, prep stuff, primer, paint and masking stuff. I'd rather get it going with drums and swap later. Even if I could work out a disc swap for a few hundred, it would take something else off the get it painted and running list, and I don't have all the cash for that yet!

Sure, no problem We're working in two different approaches, and I think yours might turn out better in the long run. Anyway to add a number for your list, I think the doghouse insulation kit I bought was $89+s/h IIRC. Ran

Arrg! Worked on the barnacle encrusted lower rear corners Friday (open shop day) and got them a lot better. Have to weld up previous holes and a crack that developed along a crease on the LR. No pictures, can't find the camera cord! Both should be ready for a skim of after the .

Not a fan of off-Whites. The point was to have a bright, true White that would glare so much you wouldn't be able to see the bodywork flaws! The paint guys say that Tan and Pale Yellow are actually better for hiding. I did see a commercial for a Mazda 2 in Spirited Green Metallic last night. Deeper than Kawasaki Green, it looked pretty good on the screen. I still am leaning toward the 2010 Dodge Purple for a dark color though. No school today, hoping to be able to go in tomorrow to make it up. Thursday I'm supposed to pull the driver's corner out a bit on the rack.

Thanks, Ron! EDIT: I can also take the wire forms to the local yard and try to find a donor, now that I have something that is close to the shape. This one is a bit too bulbous for me. I was considering using a motorcycle fender blank, but figured it would end up like this. I think I read that one was done with a VW bug fender. Nice but a tiny bit too flat. Gosh, I'm sounding like Goldilocks! I considered dropping the back of the flare like that, but decided it would look too tail heavy. I'm only doing the rears. I've decided that I'll redo the wire form so it's 29" across (same as the tire) rather than 31" (one inch extra per side) as it is now. 275/60R15s. Scary, Discount has only one brand in that size now...Cooper
