After recently lunching my BB727's overrunning clutch, (found two rollers in the pan) i'm considering upgrading from my Cheetah Reverse pattern Manual Valve body to one of CRT/Cope Transmission's Reverse Manual Valve bodies with the "Low Band Apply" feature in my next tranny.

Anyone notice any difference in 1/4 mile E.T.'s or difference in 1-2 or 2-3 shifts?

I'm pretty sure it's a Must Have for me,(Cheap insurance for $300) but just curious what to expect and i've heard talk of the shifting not being as quick as the regular Cheetah or Turbo Action rev. pat. valve bodies.

Thanks all

I didn't see an et change when I went to the LBA vb. Mine was from A and A trans.

Make sure you go through that trans thoroughly. I found rollers and chunks of the flat springs in my pan also.

The debris chewed up my outut shaft quite badly. I had to replace it.

I have a Griner in a low horsepower application. I actually picked up a little in the 60' with it.

The older LBA valve bodies were notorious for being slow releasing. That's where the loss of ET claim came from.

When I had this transmission built a few years ago I had a second one built right beside it and that's the one going into the car.

Only found two little rollers in the pan, the filter was clean almost like new, and a fair amount of very tiny fuzzy bits attached to the two magnets I had in the pan by the drain plug; All the fluid was nice and red, no big chunks of anything were found in the pan.

I'll probably have the T.C. flushed before it goes back in. Pretty sure I lucked out this time, all things considered.

I guess if you're not breaking stuff, you're not making any power

Been a huge change in technology on this over the years. If you set the trans up with the proper springs in the servo and use the newer style Griner/A A/etc valve bodies, the band come off just as quick as if the 1st gear was through the overrunning clutch.

Any preference between the A&A and CRT Reverse Pattern Manual valve bodies with Low-Band apply feature, other than the $20 price difference?

Both have excellent products. I have no experience with A$A but it's tough to find a more helpful, knowledgable, approachable person then John Cope.
