Just a curious quetion....Herb McCandless shared a little story with me years ago. He told me of problem they had headed to Indy one time. He said the truck lost oil pressure near Indy on an interstate highway. They pulled over quickly and started diagnosing the problem. Long story cut short, the problem was the pickup tube had broken off at the block. They walked accross some fields to a shopping complex and bought pipe nipples, elbows, and some screen. They plumbed the pickup using this pipe and the screen for a strainer. Put pan back on and completed the trip. Herb said as far as he knew, the pipe and screen were still in the engine when the truck was sold years later. Anybody find this in their truck????!!!

No, no, no Tim. I apologize, my comment was directed at Bigdad, though perhaps unfairly. Bigdad blasted me on another post because he thought I was merely "flipping" the truck. I just wanted to make it clear I'm one of you guys. Tim, I think you should be the information source for these trucks, as you have learned a lot about these vehicles by owning one. Sort of the StewartP of Medium Duty. Bigdad, sorry for spouting off. Thank you for this thread, I've loved it since it started. Peace.
