I bought the -1 springs, but would like to get another inch or 2. I also went to the afco sliders on the rear instead of the shackles which helped a little but not nearly enough...

When they installed my afco sliders they notched the frame where they mounted about 1 1/2 inches.

I saw somewhere that Smith Racecraft makes spring perches that lower the car. Kinda like lowering blocks but built into the spring perch.

Couple of ways to do it. I got as much as I could out of mine....See my link below to the Cuda.

I used a reversed eye in the leaf for about 0.75". I used the -2.0" leafs, and I went to adjustable rear leaf hangers and used the upper hole....

When we first put our's on, I thought it sat too high, but after a year they settled to a point where I think it is just right. If you bought them new, Calvert will exchange them once for free if you pay shipping.

These might help a little....

http://chucker54.stores.yahoo.net/ebofrspha.html

you can use the top holes to lower the front spring eye....Those are the E body but they have them for A and B bodies as well.

i use 2" lowering blocks on mine, some will say lowering blocks have a negative effect on the suspension geometry, i dont agree. i've been 1.27 60 ft on et street radials, no wheelie bars with sigle adjustable Rancho truck shocks. i say use lowering blocks.

Awesome topic, I'm planning on this over the winter...to get my 5" of front travel I had to put my front end in the dirt, went to a taller tirer to get some ride height back but I still have a pretty big rake, too big imo.

I know you got a few differant opinions here. All will work and there are many way ta achive a lower stance.
1-Calvert sells lowering blocks in 1/2 plates
2-Let the car settle onto the springs (also looks like your car is still being put together. wait until you get it at race wait.)
3-they sell a lower acrhed rear half.

Hope this helps

I like a slightly raked stance.

When using Caltracs do you still use the pinion snubber.Im using them on a dart with the -1 monoleaf springs and strange single adj shocks. With lowering the car I have only about 1 inch on the snubber the car hits hard on the launch but unloads almost leap frogging anybody have a clue?

I had a buddy of mine laser cut some perches 2" lower. Mine wrap around the axle and can be welded 360* and won't fold. I got the idea from Overkill racecars on YB and had lem made to my specs. Mine look like these, I don't have a pic here at work.

I have been 1.30 60' no sissy sticks 3250lbs -1 leafs, 1 1/2" billet lowering block, and went to 5/8" u-bolts. Never had any trouble.

I agree it does sit a little high. What size tires are those?

Does Calvert make a -2" spring?

the tire on it now is a 28x13.5 on a 12" wheel. It is narrowed a little and mini tubbed and thats all. I am going to strecth the wheel well so I can get a 30" tire in there eventually

With a 28" x 13.5" on a 12" rim, can you even get the car lower? Looks like it's pretty close to the outer wheel well as it is, and I'm guessing with just a mini-tub the tire can't go inward any further?...

Here is my Mini-tub duster pics, Not much room to stuff a 13.5" in there unless it's right on the frame rail.

Are you sure you have got the ( -1 )minus one inch springs?

We are using the stock ride height Calvert split Monoleafs on our Valiant, and our car is not anywhere near as raked as your duster.

The springs were brand new in this pic, also.

29.2" tire in the back, 27" in the front.
