John, just a thought, maybe you could set up ONE Friday class... The Friday before the Drag Expo... People could make a good weekend around that show.

Jeff.

That is a fantastic offer, is it just one Saturday or multiple Saturdays?

I could drive down there for that, no problem.

I was not trying to start controversy, just trying to inject a little humor.

Lesson learned: Humor is not appreciated in the race forum.

My apologies to all that I have offended.

problem is your tone sounded more like you meant it than a joke. I looked at it three times and also finally decided it was not a joke or was 75 % sure it was not a joke. A just kidding and or a couple LOL often people don't realize their tone sounds serios and negative even though you meant it as light humor.
re read and give the cant be missed just kiddings and signs.

First time I read it I thought it was funny. Like Big Squeeze, I caught the reference to Tom Sawyer. Never did I think it was any malice directed to John.

John, I'd be there if it weren't for the 1100 miles getting there. How about taking a vacation to FL and giving a few classes down here??!!

if you are a new mod it is forgivable

typing on these forums can be very tricky as a lot of care must be taken to insure you get the proper message across that you want

there are some great mods on moparts and there is at least one that is not

i feel a mod can not consider himself as one of the guys anymore as once he accepted the job he should become neautral and moderate in a fair and impartial manner as a certain MI MOD recently did not causing this board to lose a frequent poster here

I DARE TO BE DIFFERENT

Tone, what tone? He typed it on a computer! Now you sound like my wife saying my text messages to her have a certain tone!

Just a thought.

i called john and asked all the questions that i wanted about the class, im sure he had something better to be doing like making a living, but he was most accomadating and a gentleman. i will be in his 1st class and im driving from Ga to do it. i wish a trans supplier closer would be secure enough in his business to offer this wealth of information with out feeling threatened that some one might actually learn some things about his trade. i have been building my own trans for a couple years but it has been trial and error, finally i get a chance to learn what makes the difference on the little things that make the trans stay together as opposed to towing 150 miles to tear up on the 1st round. well worth the 200.00 plus travel, thanks john for the opportunity to learn from the best, see ya next month.

studying communications you learn all writing has a tone! Somewhat more subtle than spoken communications but there just the same. Since you may be unaware that you are giving a tone your wife is probably 100% correct about you tone!
(your above tone may be what the F are you talking about you are as (whatever) as my wife)
(or joking how can a computer give a tone and my wife say that to me too.)
So maybe you should re read messages to your wife and think did that sound short? condescending? angry? Critical???

Don't take this to seriously it's all about Mopar fun!

i really excited about this seminar.
hopefully john chimes in and gives us a little more information on how many teardowns and reassemblies during the seminar.hopefully we can do it a few times for us short term memory loss fellows, or us old guys.
if i tear one down 3x's and assemble 3x's i should have it down pat.

I took a little break from Moparts, I was perdy hot, but I see 70Cuda383 was just having a little fun, 70Cuda383 its all good. The other mods let me know that your a bit of a retard. ( yes thats a joke ) Ok, I do have "Lab Transmissions" set off the side for the class and you will be working in pairs. I was going to use 1 push button, 1 66-69 and 1 71 & up so all can see the changes over the years that chrysler made.
If your wanting to do your own trans, I will make one class for you. Its will be a class of only 3 ( I only have so much bench space ), you will work as a solo on your trans, You can use my hot tank to clean the case & tail housing, you must get all parts from me, I will supply the bushing drivers and tools needed, I will extened the class by 2 hours if needed, The class however will be $500.00 and 10% off parts bought that day.
If you have any question, you can PM me or call the shop. 219-374-0100 John

Is a 727 OK as a carry on and will it fit in the overhead bin. Wish you were closer John. Although after Saturdays spanking (USC)I'm OK with Oregon.

How about John coming overseas someday? I'm sure he has plenty of his 727's running over here too. I know/knew at least of 2 of them at my mates place.
Unfortunately only 1 left as the wheelstander has crashed and is ruined.

Would definetly went to the class if I lived in the US, John

I personally like John's offer and think some can benifit from it.The original proposal had merit and was affordable,(to learn the basics of rebuilds and some tricks of the trade)but to bring your transmission and have John teach you all the details, tricks and make you a trans expert is a lot to expect from someone who's business is race transmissions I agree is going to be more costly because of the time he has to spend with each student.I don't think anyone is going to become a trasmission expert with one class. But what John first proposed would enable one to do maintaince and freshen up their own unit.We will all need John,Rick Allision,Paul Forte and other like them for advise and help.Heck I've been doing T/F for 40 years and still call those guys when I get stumped or need advise. Thanks John,Rick and Paul for all the help.

Wish I could afford this, just not in the cards at the moment, hopefully it goes good and John can do it again next year.

When is the BGR Engine Seminar? Can I bring my own farm animal?
