Was informed last night I have no brake lights.

This is on a 1981 D-150 [I know, it is on the truck forum, too - just slow there].

Anyhow, checked and have:

Taillights
Dash lights
Turn signals
Tag light

Sooo...looked at the switch, logical, right? Hmmm...no wires to it!

So, what color are the wires to the switch [there are 2 lugs]? And, does the hot go to the plug closest to the swingarm or farthest away?

My service manual is buried in my storage building across town. Thanks!

yes 2 lugs and (on cars) they are pink/white with pink being the hot one just remember "hot pink". The pink/white are on specific terminals either for ease of installation on the assembly line but work either way.

I appreciate that. So, does the
"hot" wire go away from the swing arm [the lug which connects to the center of the switch] or vice versa?

Makes no difference. It's just in and out.
