Has anyone seen an Indy 426-6 Hemi intake up close or have a picture of one? I Googled it and it said the Indy site had a virus, so I couldn't see it there. It has a separate base with removable tops for single 4bbl, sixpack and dual inline 4bbls. From the tiny ad in a magazine, it looks like a low profile tunnel ram with short runners to a long plenum area.

Looks just like my Stage V except the carbs are closer together...like stock. Might be a better manifold for the street because you don't need all the specical "stuff" you need with the Stage V...

Thanks for the picture Bob and the info. I was wondering if it would make a good NSS intake, but it does look more like a street intake. I have three single 4bbl intakes to test already (two Indy and the Barton/MP). That intake doesn't look like an improvement over the others.

IMHO...I think you would be better off with one of the 4bbl ones..If you have to use multiple carbs then the Indy crossram would be my choice...I know NENDRA rules will allow a single 4bbl but most of the Hemi guys are running the Indy crossram. The Indy 426-6 manifold looks like a good upgrade from the stock manifold that will allow for the stock aircleaner....the Stage V mainfold requires using a different AC set up which can complicate things...

Bob, I have the Indy 426-2 and the 426-4 that I bought off of you a while back. My deal is to try to run the single Holley 850 carb in NHRA/IHRA SS and the couple of NSS events around here. It may not be practical to try to run both with the one intake and carb combo, or may be too much of a compromise for either. I'd use the NSS events as a test session on a slick track. We have maybe a dozen cars that run it around here and only a few Hemi cars. Most of them are wedges. Mark Howes ran the single 4bbl several years ago using the 426-2 and he said it was a dog under 6k RPM. It looks like it would be a better low RPM manifold than high. He won an IHRA race with it but didn't like it. Hard to step down from the crossrams and two carbs.

I thought about the 6pak manifold myself figuring you could use the 440 6pak air cleaner base, however, I think you would run into the same problem you would have running the old MP single 4 intake with a stock 440 air grabber/ram charger base because the Hemi is taller. I think you would still need a special 6pak air air cleaner base. This, of course is for stock hoods without a scoop.
Tim Banning at FHO makes a nice base for the stage V/ 2X4 package that allows the stock hood to be used.

Ever seen the price? No thanks...I spent 30 bucks on two little chrome ones from the local AP store...
I like the Stage V manifold as far as function but the changes that need to be made to make it work on a car that you want to retain the "stock" look on effectively doubles the cost...The Indy one looks like a good deal if one wants the performance gains and still want to retain the stock appearance of the car....
Your right, it is a bit on the steep side, BUT, as in my case I want to retain the function of the stock air grabber hood, either way I went (modified or custom 6 pak base or the FHO drop base) I'm into some coin. Intake, carbs, base, linkage and fuel lines are close to 2gs for the stage V. I still think I'd be close to that with the six pak (I think Summit has the original 440 carbs for close to 350 each). So for me it's looks like a wash with the 2X4 looking closer to stock.
