You need to pull it apart and rifle drill the oil galleys if you want to pushrod oil. What problem are you having with the spray bars?
A couple of burnt pushrods. I drilled the holes in the tubes in the valve covers bigger and it helped, and was even going to go bigger, and run a return line from the head to the pan, but I'm not confident in the system? I like to drive it once in awhile on the street, but I don't trust it so it sits till race day. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

With ball/ball pushrods you really need pushrod oiling. The cup on a cup/ball pushrod acts as a oil catcher and small reservoir. It's hard for the rocker end of a ball/ball pushrod to catch and keep much splash fed oil IMO. EDIT: Ball/ball systems don't "need" push rod oiling to work, I've personally just had better luck with cup style rods with spray bars. I know guys using ball/ball rods without pushrod oiling and not having problems so who knows. Make sure the oil spray is pointed in the right direction as well

You've probably got enough oil coming up top, it's just not getting where it needs to go. It's tougher to do with ball pushrods and the cup style adjusters, but it can be done. Are the spraybar feeds restricted at all?

I drilled the rocker arm to valve adj , also made sure the spray bar oil holes were facing/spraying on to the valve covers , this will make sure the oil sprays directly onto the adj/PR , i agree the ball/ball is not a good idea as mentioned earlier , i was forever pulling the valve covers to find a couple of scorched rods , all is good now.
So you had the spray bars spraying to the back of the valve cover, or the intake side? Where did you drill exactly? Just trying to picture it, thanks for the input.

How much vac on the pump?Does it have a baffle in the valve cover?I run the pump to the valIey on spray bar oiling.I have run the spray bars for years and years on the street with no problems.I do use a one piece pushrods. My Hemi would eat Smith brothers pushrods,I went with CV one piece and no more problems. The one piece has a smaller end and I think it helps to oil better.Lenny
Vac on the pump is about 7 at idle then 13 full throttle. It does have a baffle now, because the fitting is over # 1 and that exhaust was the first one to burn, so I baffled it, and enlarged the holes on #'s 1 and 2.Thanks for the info.

There weren't any instructions in the box and I wasn't smart enough to sit there and figure it all out myself. I just assumed the stuff would work right out of the box but that wasn't very smart of me.
I bought this setup used, but new or used, these things are sometimes trial and error, luckilly the error part isn't too bad yet, just a few burnt pushrods. You were smart enough to figure it out, I hope I am too. Thanks for the input, I think what I'll do is send more oil to the rockers like you said, and I already have the back of the head drilled and tapped, so I can add a fitting and drain the oil to the pan if needed. So drilling the block, bushing the lifter bores, and fixing the rockers would be pretty pricey? Thanks.
