Starting to plan this winter's project, which will be a rebuild or stroker for my tired old smoking 383.

Can any of the Seattle area guys recommend a good machine shop and/or steer me clear of the bad ones.

Build should be pretty mild and straigtforward, nothing too exotic.

Thanks

Has anybody used these guys in Lake City?

I believe they are part of the Lake City NAPA.

C'mon guys. I know there are more of you out there.

No tales of woe about some shop that screwed your new engine build up?

Back when I used to live in the Puget Sound, Cope Brothers in Spanaway had a good reputation. I used and liked Centerline in Downtown Puyallup and 1st National auto on South Tacoma way. I am thinking that 1st National farmed out their work but was happy with the end results from them.

I used Autosport Seattle for my machine shop needs on my recent build. Ask for John.

Yes they do specialize in the older European exotics. However the machine shop is full service with extensive experience supporting most all the dealers and independent repair shops located mainly around downtown/central district. Their basic machine services pricing is competitive and the work is of the highest quality.
