How do the plugs look? they should look like brand new with q-16..what kind of timing?have you dynoed it with the new set-up?
A cowl hood will not work..trust me. I have gone down that road.you might try to run with the hood off and put 2 big K/N air filters on it..having the 2x4 is going to be a challenge there.. do like the truck pullers do..it will look goofy, but worth a try..

Fill them with fuel, take them off the intake and set them on the workbench for 20 mins and see if they are dripping. My old carb did that.
bigcube, where were they dripping from? the boosters, intermediat circuit? PV vac hole?
I don't know, only one barrel in the secondaries. I never did figure it out. The butterflies weren't wet so seems like it was from below that.. the transfer slots maybe? The carb was strange, needed HUGE jets. It needed 99 sq when my other 1150 needed 92 on the same motor.

Where do you have the air gap set on the crank trigger pick up?

We had a problem with the car not starting when it was just recently run with no changes, air gap was .060 - .065. After checking everything known to man we tightened up the air gap to .040 and it hasn't missed a beat since.

Can't explain that. Just thought I'd add our recent odd experience. There is no need to replace a pick if it has between 80-85 Ohms. Could be numerous things, kinda hard to trouble shoot if you're not there. I'm sure one of the rocket-surgeons on here will figure it out.

I'm certainly no rocket surgeon but check to make sure your plug wires aren't crossed. who set up your carbs for Q16?? without a dyno that fuel is very hard to tune good luck

Twin dominator throttle bodies with electronic fuel injection....would be the [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean]....but I already posted that in his other thread...If you like spending money that would be a good way.

I'm defnately no expert but have you always run the q16? If so,try another fuel.I run VP fuels and love it,but I went to their 113 wich isn't as oxygenated as the q16 and had nothing but problems. You can't just jet it up like they ell you,you need to richen up the idle and intermediale circuits as well.Just a thought.
