I have spoke to several of you in the past about this,as well as have friends who race these types of events, but I am looking for who runs a good 10.0 heads up race and what their rules are.

I am a principal at a NHRA track here, and looking for more ideas on one of these races. Any and all ideas or suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Todd

Just tailor your rules to fit my car perfectly like CRT did for this years Chrysler Classic and I'll come run that stuff.

One tough decision is will you run a 0.500 or 0.400 Pro Tree. Some hard core racers like the .400, but the .500 will make it more even to attract more cars to enter, not all the regular cars can go .400

ATCO's 10.00 index class uses the .500 Pro Tree.

Depends if you are trying to attract a lot of cars, or a special group of top ET style .400 cars.

10.90 SST runs a .500 Pro Tree
Super Gas and Super Comp run a .400 Pro Tree

I kind like the .400 tree myself, but yes, I want to attract more cars. That being said, I was looking at the Atco rules and they change from 10.00/12.00 with a .500 tree, to a .400 for the 8.50 class. I will keep looking for input and I need to give John Cope a call as well. All ideas are welcome.

The rules for the CRT Ten O Shootout for 2007 :

1. No electric throttle stops
2. No down track studder boxes
3. No air or electric shifters
4. Trans brakes OK
5. Delay boxes OK
6. .400 pro tree
7. MOPAR powered door cars only, No dragsters, No open bodied rods
8. This class is limited to 10.00 and slower
9. Qualifying attempts should be 10.00 and slower, you go 9.99 or quicker, back to the end of the ladder you go.
10. If during eliminations you run 9.99 your out and on the trailer
11. If during eliminations both cars break out closest to 10.00 wins.
12. After qualifying all cars will be placed on a sportsman ladder with #1 qualifier getting bye if there is one.
There will be a rule or two added for 2008 One of them being no driver and or car swaping during eliminations and or time runs.

Then to make it more fun I added bounty hunter money:
The winner of the CRT Ten O ShootOut will have a bounty put on his head. The driver that takes out the winner from the previous race will get an extra fifty bucks. If the driver wins back to back races the bounty hunter money will go up until some takes that driver out.

The CRT Ten O Shootout was a big hit at the Classics this year, So much that for 2008 we are going to have Ten O at every race. We had 31 cars at Martin, and 42 I think at Norwalk.

Now I going to tell you, no matter how the rules are set up you will have the one guy that will cry as the rules are not set up for that persons car, all I can say to that is set your car up for that class or go race in trophy

I don't think this one was enforced. If it was, you would've lost racers left and right after a couple rounds.

I personally enjoy watching this type of racing as it is very exciting to see the cars going heads up and im glad they are doing it at all events next year. I dont have a car that goes close to 10.0 but I still like the idea of the class Better put the bounty out early for wheelsup since he is the champ and all so it can get added to by the first race next year, heres my addition-
