Trying to get ready for Milan Saturday, is a 1/2" clearance aound the wheel well enough? I'm massaging wheel wells this week! Thanks Dennis

Thats alittle tight for me.. I like to see 3/4 to 1 inch.. Are you talking about to the side of the tire, or infront and to the rear.. I think for a drag car, the side clearance of 1/2 would be okay, but not the front or rear.. What size is the tire.. You gota think of growth...

Side to side I think 1/2" is OK. Front and rear you need more. I had a set of 30x12.5 ET Streets that tried to remove my 1/4 panels at 135 mph with only 1/2" clearance at the front. CHIP

30 x 9 phoenix slicks, maybe I'll run my ET Streets until I have more time to massage the wheel wells. Thanks

So then your talking about front and rear clearance.. I'd say no.. It won't be enough..

I will say I run Hoosier 30 x 9 radial slicks and they dont grow very much like a normal slick does. It could make it better for you. Ron

Front to back no,but side to side its not a problem. The slicks on my Dart clear the leaf springs by less than 1/2 inch.I cant get my fingers in between the side walls and leafs. They dont rub and have no rub marks on either the tires or the leafs.I have been 113 mph with them this way.Slicks grow at speed...
