finally went to the track with the barracuda. this is the indy headed 408. best i could do was 11.10@123 and a 1.63 60ft. the car still does not get up on the power very fast. this is where i'm losing my time. i'm thinking maybe loosening the valve lash and removing the super 44's in place of some borlas. all opinions welcomed.
thanks

I don't think that there's enough Info.. Whats the time set at, what gears, convertor, ect ect.. Looks pretty lazy out of the hole.. What carb.. shooter size.. What's the vertor flash to.. rear suspension???

When I was running 11-teens my 60ft was in the 1.50 range never higher than 1.55. I'd say your looking at a 10 second ride, when you get it figured out..

conv. is a tight 9.5" 4400 flash ptc, 4.10 gear 28" tire. 002/003 superstock springs clamped. car weights 3400 with me in it. 60's better at 2500 luanch vs 2000rpm. tubular control arms with 90/10's and 50/50 out back. shift points are best at 6500. prosystem 1000hp with 40 squirters.

From what I'm seeing Dave I'd say more flash from your converter would really help. My 11.0 run has a 1.47 60' so once you find that 60' your 10 sec.runs are going to be there!
My TCS 4000 stall will flash to 5200

when lane at ptc built this vert he said for a street/strip car and my combo he would build a tight 9.5 4400. how much do you think i should have it loosened up without causing hot trans issues on the street?

I'd say 4800 to 5000 would get you there.. But I think you at that point where you need to ask yourself.. Is this more a street car or strip car.. If its a street car, I'd leave it be and try to finsd the time somewhere else.. lighten it up some more and that sort of thing.. Car really flies on top end.. Looks good..

i think the converter is to low too. i have a 5300 9" from Lenny and it works really good on the street. i have been driving it on the street alot more than i ever have and have had no problems. the 9.5 converter are decent cheap converters but they dont have the more durable race oriented parts that a 8 or 9" will

going back to the track this saturday with a good tune. drained all the race fuel from the tank and filled with ultra 93. carb jetting is spot on just as patrick shipped it to me. set timing to 35* and tightened up valves, relashed valves to spec.
talked to tim at ptc. he recommends an 8" with 4800-5000 flash.
