Looking into building a small block stroker. How much should I expect to be charged for offset grinding the crankshaft to increase the stroke and run chevy rods?

If you run a 360 crank offset ground for 2.0 chevy rods you can go to a 3.705 stroke in theory, in reality you can expect 3.700 stroke, you will have to get custom pistons because no one makes an off the shelf piston for it. It will still be a cast crank so you will be spending a lot of money on a motor that can't handle a lot of power.

If you start with a 273-318-340 crank it will go to a 3.435 in theory and in reality 3.430 still not much of a gain for the money spent.

If it was me and a cast crank would work I would get a 4 inch stroke crank from SCAT. If I needed a forged crank I would go with a 4 inch version of those also.

I was quoted $225 for offset grinding plus shipping both ways since no one around here can do it.

that's what I was looking for. It would be better to just buy a bigger stroke crank. What if I want to still run the chevy rods but not offset grind on the crank? That shouldn't be much to grind the crank to accept the rods with no offset. Right?

Probably cost almost the same, it just takes a while to remove that much material.

I would talk to Dan at performance only about a K1 4.125 stroke crank if I just had to have chevy rods. I think he may havbe a couple 4 inch cranks with chevy journals also.
