Just like 440SE says, it will be below the passengerside door on the frame. definately a 440 truck by what your VIN is. It was orignally a fleetside bed truck. Yes, they made them is yellow, I just sold a 78 macho power wagon that was factory yellow. The "5" that you are refering to should be an "S" in the vin, and it is a common mistake at the DMV too.

yeah, the "S" is very commonly referred to as "5"
i see it on the Bay all the time.
looks very similar on the Mopar typewriter.

Hi new to the board. I have a 77 Adventurer Se 150 440 swb. It has bucket seats, factory tach, cruise, air, dual tanks ( which it really needs). I show the truck alot and drive it when ever I can. Here's a link to some pics of it.

wow, i have to agree w/sam. that's one sweet little ride.
nice color combo, like that red on white. does it have red int? just wondering cuz you said it had buckets and they only came in black. and that would make a really nice color combo red/white/black. oooohhhhh
show us a pic, red int looks sweet when it's redone.

did you have rear wheels widened?

BUT, looks like i still have the rarest one, so far. hehe

Yeah 77440se I am a machinist, I got the truck from a guy who had gotten from a doctor that special ordered it. Where do I know you from? I am in Northeast TN.

Machoman,
it has a black interior. On the wheels the rear ones have been widen two inches to the outside and I took off the plain bullet style center and added spinners to them. They really turned out nice. I wanted to use the stock wheels so that was what I decided to do to them to make them look trick.

I take somemore pics in the next few days and post them.

Machoman, what is your truck?

i'll make ya a deal. go into the "Mopar clubs and Member Registry" part of Moparts and register your truck(or PM me)in my registry. i'd love to have the info.

as for my truck, it's a 77 D150 Adventurer clubcab shortbed 440/727.
i have over 400 trucks listed and this is the only 440 clubcab shortbed i've seen. of course, i have dynotune to thank for it.

I too own a 78 440 Warlock with the all important D as the 5th character in the vin. Now let me start by saying that yes I agree these trucks are rare, but, a total of 73 440 d150's built in 78. I don't want to upset anybody, heck I've got one myself, but I've run into other 78 440 trucks in my travels around the surrounding states and in western Canada. For that matter I've heard from separate sources years ago that 5 78 LRE's with 440's were built and sold in Canada. I've never seen one but have talked to a gentleman in Saskathchewan who did. Anyway I agree they are rare, I just think there are more out there that slipped out with 440's. This is my humble opinion and please don't think that I mean any harm. I don't! Give me a couple of months and I'll have some pic's on here of my Warlock with it's fresh cosmetic resto.

smokn440 on your truck it is really rare but i have talked with another guy that says he has one of those ( it may have been you though). I spoke to him at the Lil red/Warlock show in Newport News VA in 2002. Said he had bought it with the intention of making a Midnight express out of it but after seeing my Adv SE and me trying to convince him how rare and odd his was he said he was going to restore it back. Also I believe he said his truck was a sunroof truck..
