Is anyone going to Beaver Springs this weekend for the 2-day N/SS race? Flashback Friday is obviously Friday night. Saturday, 422 is running a points race at the same track. I talked to a couple of my buddies that run '63 Plymouth N/SS cars ("Thanks Mom" Craig Balmer, and "The Desert Rose" Keith Wynn) will be there. We're going as well with "Frustration". Are you out there Steve? I know this is one you don't miss. Hope to see you all this weekend. The weather report for Selinsgrove, PA (near Beaver Springs) is H-84, L-65 both days with little chance of rain.

We can't wait, Tom. It is one of the "can't miss" deals.....we are also staying over to run with you guys on Saturday, as well.

We are bringing three NSS cars....mine, Ron McClelland's "Bud's Auto Sales" Hemi, and my son Kyle's 64 wedge car. We're also bringing a couple of Jr. Stockers.

A couple who's wedding I was in over thirty years ago is coming up, too, they haven't been to the track for probably twenty years or so. I've been pumping this up for some time, and they called me last night and are really psyched!!

Can't wait, we'll see you there!!

We'll see you Friday night...and hopefully Saturday as well. I haven't been to a 2-dayer in...maybe ever. The only thing better than racing is more racing. Tom

Heres some foot notes about this weekend...
Flashback Friday is basically same rules apply as York-30 Nostalgia Nationals.
However Saturday is 422's race and a different set of rules will apply for that day particular that will differ from Flashback Friday.
The main change for Saturday is no transbrakes.
422 Rules are simply no transbrake, 422 members are trying to change the ruling but until it gets voted out last I was told no transbrakes allowed on Saturday. Flashback Friday yes for transbrake 422 Saturday no transbrakes.
You know how things go things change and this could very well change when were there this weekend but last I heard this was still in tact.

On another note, Ive read some of your post over the summer and more importantly witnessed some of your cars at BSD. Regarding the traction issues...Beaver Bob has made some honest attempts to resolve the problems at the starting line. The Savoy has been battling traction problems for the last 2 months as well. We thought it was the car and to some extent it was but now looking back were thinking the track was also a contributor.
After changes made to the suspension and rear tires and Beaver Bobs efforts it appears things are back "on track". Check out the photo above this was taken last weekend after the starting line was touched up by no other than Max Naylor himself lending a helping hand to Beaver Bob.

Beaver Bob quote:
"On Friday, August 7th, NHRA Pro Stock driver, Max Naylor, spent the afternoon helping our staff get the Beaver back to being a hard hooking track. Under his guidance we scrapped the track bare and started rebuilding the traction foundation. After 4 hours of dragging the track and laying down a super concentrated VHT mix the track was ready. Talking with the drivers, they all said it worked. Many had their best 60 foot times ever. Count of Cliffie and our guys to keep the Beaver biting."
