I started a post two years ago on this project its in internet land lost ..

The F.A.S.T. Car is 97.9 % done . just missing a good time slip and gotta fix some traction woes .

Im burnt out from the fast car . so I picked up on this project again ,.

So Ill start the post again.

Started as a Missouri car 72 SSP Sunroof Car

An Ebay Car a/c sunroof some other options , cool car , It looked like a driver .

Who wouldnt have bought this ..
Its a real Winchester- Gunmetal Grey car.

The market was high then .. So you know it was decent money , but I figured no rust , and it was pretty clean . But it was hit , and i figured it out after paint . no big deal ..

At the time I thought it was gonna be state of the art a magazine car , Im sure theres been three or four similar cars built with the same idea..

But mine will be cooler

So my plans were

do anything that would pee the purists off
make sur nothing was numbers matching
media blast
5K for paint
Passon overdrive - 4 Speed
XV mods
dana
and Alterkation .

All happened except for the 5K paint job , try double that .. It was worth it though .

And if not the painter has made up for it for three other projects that popped up in between.

SO all the stuff has been accumulating dust for two years .. I figured i have to put it together before the wife kicks me out for having too many projects .

This is the body tag , Just special handling ..

So the car got media blasted

Xv stuff installed , rad support modified

Firewall stiffened

Inner fenders stiffened

f & R Torque boxes - from HARMS then modified

Subframe connectors - Modified to fit

All the undercoating was scraped , and a cage installed ..

I think it might be too stiff

I didnt want the 72 markers so in went the 71 markers

tons of smoothing

It really looked good before paint

Nice package from UPS nondamaged

Stroker getting freshened up with a Bob K solid cam

Oh and Comp Cams rockers and a 440 source adjustable timing chain .

we found that Mixing after market air grabbers and repop grabber stuff doesnt work

Then the crazy happened ...

My body man moved locations ..

The car was in limbo for months .. The good thing

was that I bartered the whole deal with him.

We remodeled his house and shop , I did the heating , it worked Out OK ..

Except I had sold my GTX and I was bored to heck ..

So I got sidetracked , this driver came around

Actually the above two cars werent bought by me but my brother in law , BUT , I had to transport them , then take them back to the shop get them running ..

etc . etc . It took up some time ,

I oNly scored THESE cars while waiting for final paint ..

Meanwhile .. Painter lost a bunch of parts

and he was doing fast collision jobs to make a living because noone makes money on restos especially one that are bartered . Live and learn

good thing i keep spare parts.

Lot of catching up and drama to post to be continued Guess its easy to say I get sidetracked

so for all who asked about the sunroof car , there it is .. Hope to get more done next weekend ..

now why does eds front end get up so high .. and no tire smoke

ok 150 lbs of sand in the trunk , some calverts in the front - and it has a little better weight transfer The great pumpkin may actually hook and rise .

Anyways nice laid back sunday ..

managed to get some more stuff done afterward ..

I think Im really going to concentrate on getting this thing rolling further . Anyone have a home remedy for A.D.D. ? Im starting to belive I have it .

What do you think SSP badge on the rear only ?

I can make this a RR a GTX or a ssp at this point

I will only need a standard grille if its a ssp

ok starting to make some progress I dreaded doing the hubs and rotors and safety wires ..

But after everyone at home left me alone tonite for four hours Im ready to get the rotors on the spindles

It took five hours to figure out why the caliper wouldnt center over the rotor ..

Wilwood Installed the wrong inner bearing races ..

still playing with the holdownsm Yes I know the pic shows em backwards ..

My Rockers will not fit , Think I got Chinese reproduction rollers .. To be continued ..

The package had Ford written on it ..

Guess what .. They were packaged incorrectly , or something . They were Chevy Bolt Pattern

The good thing was I got the front bumper aligned with only one scratch on the top header panel .

The header panel wasnt sucked down far enough when it was assembled , i will check for that on my next nut and bolt resto ( never again )

Wow sumthin went right AMD rear valence is not Identical , but fits Ok

Great looking ride!!, love that color and the sunroof, keep up the good work and I think the ADD is working for you.

no fast racing for the rest of the year between mecanical issues and medical issues i stayed away from musclepalooza , but i did some work to the super PLUS.

The interior paint works OK , if you like rattle can .. The second can had less pressure than the first, some paint splotches from poor tip atomization , cant complain too much .. Paint from Herbs ..

Two cans SHOULD do a whole interior ..

Up on all fours ..

What brand scissor lift is it you're using? Looks like it works out well. Car looks awesome so far, can't wait to see it done.

its asnap on lift , I use it in a low deck garage ,
Not good for tranny or engine swaps But great for assembly so youre not bending Over..

Bumper is On ! After being hostage at painters for 6 months .
looks naked without an eyebrow . but it is what it be ..
No eyebrow on this one , maybe itll come off the F.A.S.T car and paint gunmetal

aMd rear valence works well also held hostage by painter for a long time .
just need to mod it a little so it thinks its on a 71

Next is the bumper with the textured argent bezels

why it took so long to get this bumper on is beyond me .

guess when it takes a week to rebuild harness and detail something noone will ever see , it adds time ...

might try something different with bezels

I'm cloning a 72 Plus to RR. It's in the paint shop. We finished the CS welding. Firewall, dutchman panel, lower 1/4's.

May do the Air Grabber. It looks soooo good.

However, It appears we have the same problem.
Good Mopars keep coming our way.

After a failed attempt at ac box resto shipping in one piece,
I Finally got it in .. With some dynamat ..that stuff is heavy ..
I was not too impressed with sms , but they finally came through -
I think i coulda done what they did with detroits kit .
But dont have time .

No SMS handled it for me ..

I hate organisol , but its done and no zebra stripes

If i had a day off a month this car would be done by april ..

Just FYI a Satellite Sebring Plus would only have the Sebring Plus (actually Satellite Sebring Plus) emblem on each 1/4 panel and a plain Sebring ( actually Satellite Sebring) emblem on the trunk lid.

IDK itll add some contrast to the cockpit

You should see the door handles .. But they were nos.
