Hey Guys! Got a little more work done to the car...

Striped the drivers quarter found it was a lot more rustier that the passenger side...

Also prepped the metal to weld the inner fenders back on...

Then later i placed the inner fender back in and gave it a few welds after aligning it and measuring several times...

Next was to get the side apron back on and aligned...

Stole the old mans radiator take make sure it would go back in and put a few more welds in place...

Once i had that double checked i got the bottom part of it on and everything is in line and bolts up now problems...

Still have some welds to be made but here it is rebuilt

This is quite the experience for me as i have never done any welding or bodywork for myself. I would encourage others to get out there and try it, im starting to learn techniques and improve my skills with every weld and piece i do!

An exciting update for the project today...

Went to the local junkyard to check out the two 71 chargers that the owner had there. This one had a nice cowl which we need badly and was the easiest to get out, so we went ahead and bought it for $300.

Here she is sitting back in rough...

Got her loaded on the trailer, wish i had been able to snap a picture of the car 10 feet in the air with the forks through her roof

Now were home and let the strip down begin!

I went out scavenging the yard and found complete 72 charger flip front end that has some damage to the out bezel but can be repaired. Also found a complete rear bumper assembly for the car. Picked up both of these for a total of $75.

The car had literally 6-8 inches of water inside and had carpet to boot, not the funnest part dealing with the nasty stuff inside...

The kicker in the whole project once what we found once we had it stripped out and used the wet vac. Seriously one of the biggest shocks ive ever had from a junkyard find

MINT floors and trunk, there is a little pitting in the trunk but this is much better off that what we had. I think we just saved a lot of money on floor and trunk repair

After all the fun it was time to get the car ready to be drilled into sections we will use! Pulled the motor, carefully removed the car from the trailer with jacks, then get her in place to be taken apart!

At home next to the bee!

Wow....y'all mugged that guy for $300 on that one. Lots of good parts on there you can use. You're gonna have to bust tail to get done in time, but you can do it. Good luck

Happy Thanksgiving everyone...

Thanks for all the support guys! Yes looking at it now we did absolutely great for $300. The floors are great and there is a complete set of seatbealts, and tons of brackets and extra bolts (always come in handy).

Making some good progress on the parts car deconstruction...Drilled out the inner fenders since we are going to resale everything we dont use to help fund the project...

Then the cowl we drilled out...Man this piece is nice...

Since we needed a complete front floor and the two pans behind i figured id do them all in one shoot(very big piece)...

After drilling out all those spot welds i need to do it again on the super bee Let me tell you i have to give a lot of credit to moparmarks on this board who sells sheetmetal. I dont know how you sell the stuff so cheap after all the labor involved

Have a good Turkey day and im sure well get lots done over the 5 day break

That's an awesome project. And you scored big time with that donor car. Keep up the good work!

Drilling spot welds IS NOT fun......

Who's (manufacturer) bit are you using to drill the welds?

Keep at it...looks good.

Nice to have the room to work.....
