Thanks Guys! Thanks for embarrasing me and putting me in an awkward situation. I have been racing at Island Dragway for over 25 years and have always had a good repore with Tony the track manager. A few months ago I spoke to him on your associations behalf to get you some dates to compete at Island he did that and gave you some dates, last week I got a call from one of you for info on contacting him about more dates because L V flooded. I gave that info you contacted him and he gave you more dates including yesterday. I was looking forward to seeing you guys yesterday and Tony IMO rolled out the red carpet he put it on the website on shot notice and had the announcer talking you guys up over the loud speaker. The NENDRA cars were called to the lanes for time shots even before us regular/weekly racers got ours even though only one car showed up, a 64 Galaxie the announcer continued to talk up the car about how nice it was. After awhile he conceded saying over the loud speaker" I guess none of the other NENDRA cars are showing up and decided to race in NY instead" Luckily I was able to duck Tony thru the evening so I wouldn`t have to answer as to were all the NENDRA cars were. I know your associatation is in turmoil with political infighting but to schedule a date and not show up is just wrong especialy after Tony and myself try to help you out. Now I am left with talking to Tony to try and distance myself from your association. I am not surprised by the actions of one of you but the ones I`ve known for many years really disappoint me.

The NENDRA class sounds familiar, who runs and is in the class? Who ever made the arrangements and backed out with no excuse, but to just go race at another track, and leave the other track hanging..Is just plan wrong, and obviously these people lack character and has issue's/ priority trouble.

A truely poor turn of events
So You ask the hot chick to the prom and a week before she calls and says I'm Sick.
Then you ask her hot older sister if she can take her place since you already booked the hotel room.
Well Prom night comes and the younger sister says Hey I feel much better I can still go with you after all.

Evidently the founder and former officer of NENDRA neglected to contact Tony- the track manager as he had promised to do.
I'm am currently attempting to contact Tony personally as I was one of the racers who had agreed to remain at LVD due to the fact that they overcame their flooded conditions and were open for business.

Bill I feel bad that they put you on the spot like that. If I were Tony Id drop all the other dats and wouldnt let them race there at all since they have a respect and are 2 faced.

I`ve been notified by some of the former and present? association officers, All I ask is that they notify Tony and explain the situation which I was informed would happen. As I said I`ve been racing there for over 25 years and am in good standing with the track operator I`d like to keep it that way. I`m currently locked in a close Points chase( I`m presently #1 in second 1/2 points) to try and qualify for the NED Bracket Finals, I need to concentrate on going rounds not the drama.

For the record I didn't tell anyone to do anything or go anywhere. We are ADULTS and made decisions on our own. All 9 members that showed up to race did so to support LVD as they gave us a place to run NENDRA event the past 2 years.
Maybe you'll show up at an event in the future since I'm not allowed to be part of the group anymore. I thought that you were starting a new association and stepped down from NENDRA the other day?

Today, crews showed up at the track with excavators, fill, stones and all sorts of pumps, brooms and cleaning equipment. The clubhouse was cleaned out and under pretty good condition. The water had gone down enough where the parking lots were clear and the water was out of the concession stands. The jersey barrier was removed and the fill was put in and tamped until.....it rained!
Yes, once again the track and the grounds are under water. Water is once again running through the club house. The good news I guess is that it is a foot less than where it was at it's worse point the other day. Unfortunately, we start at square one once again.
Tomorrow morning, we will be back at the track chasing the water away and cleaning once again.
Keep us in your prayers as we tackle what appears to be a never ending battle. As of tonight's news....another round of rain and thunderstorms on Wednesday and extended also shows rain Sunday.

Howard was WRONG! They did have french fries at the concession stand and boy were they GOOD! There were spectators in the grandstands.
The track was up and operational. There were probably 100 to 125 cars running. The tree, timing equipment and scoreboards were all working perfectly. The far end was just as it always has been- short- and the jersey barriers were all in place. No undermining of the surface was evident. A NENDRA member- Wayne Farquar was running his Nova and stated that the track was as good as before the GREAT FLOOD.
The so called DESTRUCTION was over near the gas pump/shack. The road leading into the field fron the back of staging was definitely washed out but has been filled with gravel and process and will be able to be driven on tomorrow. Some of the grass pit area is of course soft and mushy in areas but will dry out as time goes on.
The biggest issue I see remaining is the dust. Sediment in the form of fine clay has left a film everywhere. So if you don't run an air cleaner get one before you venture up this weekend. I was assured by Steve Robbilotto (sp) the track manager that the crews will be working feverishly tomorrow and Friday to remedy this as they have the Night of Fire on Friday evening- jet cars and trucks, rock band, a full eliminator of regular race cars and lots of paying spectators.
There are a few puddles in the staging lanes but the sweepers will take care of these too- as per Steve R.
I didn't see: any water perculating up thru the ground or on the track surface. I watched 15-20 pairs go down the track-mid to high 10 second and a few 11 second- and no one came back complaining of any slick spots on the racing surface.
So there is my report on the state of the "Valley".
Other than the dusty condition(s) I would not have a problem with racing there as I write this.

11secdart I am sorry you had to be put in the middle of this.I was new this year to NENDRA
as it was formed to run at my local track 9 times this year,I was probably more excited than anyone
in this group to join a racing association Ive raced for 9 years averaging 5 times a year,this is the first year I have ever joined a points program.Knowing i couldnt make every race but would try.I won two events and first ever trophys.
all the people I race with are great and true friends.I have to admit I was not happy when chris decided to take the rest of the races to Island dragway as my season would end with the group cant afford to take that trip from Vermont.
but that was his decision I wish it could have been more of a group decision,Im not blaming anybody but I will not deal with this DRAMA
as I can see no good is becoming of this.If I am going to race Im going to have fun as this post shows the fun stops here.I am done for the rest of the year with nendra hope everybody can continue and things work out.
