This is what i came up with for the vacuum-pump to valve cover connection and baffle. No welding, no bolts through valve covers, can be removed.
Using Moroso pn# 22635 which is a hollow nut with holes around perimeter. Used a 90 degree bulkhead fitting which threads into the Moroso "breather nut." Drilled and tapped this nut and fastened cut out piece of aluminum.

2- notice the aluminum plate extends to middle, making end opening in-between rocker sets. Used a couple 2x4 pieces and a vice for a metal break.

the alum plate is not as tight as it looks in the pic... there's aprrox .150 gap all the way around. the moroso pn# 22635is for the breather nut, straight #12 fitting, rubber o-rings and washer. I do believe they sell this as part of a comprehensive vac-pump kit- but, can be purchased on its own. Need the baffling? I am not sure but, after reading several posts recently concerning amount of oil being sucked out of motor- i figured it could only help. I have not run a vacuum pump before, so this will be somewhat of a test.

that'll work, should get plenty of air.

You only need air not oil
he better hope it gets some oil if he wants the pump to live...
do you have a regulator Stuart? I would recommend one. Are you on alky? If so, you will love the pump!

I prefer the Star baffle, I tried all the others and it was the only one that worked for me. But a B1 heads leave a LOT of oil up top so it seems more critical than with Indy heads. I know I have never had an issue with any Indy head breather set up, provided it pulls from the top of the cover I also recommend the Star regulator, I use one with my Moroso enchanced 4 vane.
