Hi Guys I got my aluminum heads on my 440 and they are awesome. Yet I am having a small issue with the car upon quick accleration. When I nail it, I have a stumble and bog before it takes off. Its a Holley street avenger 770 cfm sitting on a Holley street dominator manifold on a midly built 440 engine. Mike a

I have a 72 duster and a 72 road runner
the road runner had a bad igntion swicth
both cars have tach drive distributers
duster is locked / msd retard box too
road runner is centrifical advance
at the time didnt know what the problem was and swapped distributers
the locked distributer ( from the duster ) barely started the road runner but the centrifical advance was fine *38
with a starter butten on the starter relay it whould start but not by the ignition swich

Check the basics first, timing, then give the carb a shot (engine off) to make sure you have a full pump shot right from the instant you start moving the throttle

Ok, now I'm brain farting here. I must be forgetting something. I remember that with old vaccuman advance Dizzy. I first set intial, then plugged vaccum advance before bringing rpm's up to 2500 and set total for 35 degrees (10+)
I was all ready to do it, but forgot how to do it on the msd dizzy! Is it as simple as me bringing up the rpm's to 1200 rpms and set my timing to 35 degrees?

Bring up the rpm's to 3000 and see what the total timing is.... then back at idle check it again... then slowly bring up the revs to see when it starts to increase the timing and when it reaches full timing You might need more initial and less advance timing, check it and tell us what you get
