Do these motors have any of the same oil issues as the old 3.0 cylinder head deal? Trying to help a neighbor out with a 96 Sebring.

Not as far as I know. The valve guide issue was solved in the 3.0's years before the 2.5 V6 was even born. That's not to say they can't be worn just from wear and tear though.

Hi miles? If so I agree with the previous post the engine is worn out. 3.0L and 2.5L really have nothing in common.

Check you spark plug tube seals!!!! Replaced a ton of those for leaks replace the v/c gaskets too and the plugs and wire while your at it.
