I mocked up my 440 valvetrain last night and discovered I have a few pushrods that are way too close to the intake port on the head (915's). One is physically touching. I have Crane ductile iron adjustable rockers and Crane solid lifter pushrods. What is the right way to fix this? Thanks in advance!

I would buy a rocker arm shim kit and shim the rockers away from the stands

been throgh this twice with Iron and Aluminum heads with the Crane Ductile Rockers. I concur grind the heads for clearance....that's the fix.
FYI I also used Smith Brothers pushrods the 2nd time around and they seemed to be machined to closer tolerences giving me a bit more clearance than the cheapo pushrods I was running b4.

To clarify the pushrods need to be moved horizontally not vertically- Anyone had this problem before?

Crane iron rockers and 3/8 pushrods need to clearance the head to fit. I had to clearance some shaft stands on my 452 heads for the rockers.

Using 3/8 pushrods (good idea) on Mopar BB iron heads typically will need grinding some casting flash on the heads. It shouldn't need much. If the rocker isn't centered on the valve, shims against the rocker shaft holddowns might help.

How much clearance do I need? Who sells the proper shims for the Crane ductile iron rockers?

Get .015 clearance and you should be good unless your push rods are flexing alot. Mancini sells the shims Check your clearance all the way through the travel but usually its closest at full lift

so, are you saying the rocker tip is not centered on the valve stem? if not, get the shim kit. if they are, start grinding.
