'nother:
Putting it on the engine stand was great since I could rotate it and get all areas evenly and really lay the paint down smooth!

Its really hard to capture the details but both center bars were cracked where they meet the wheel and at the center along with multiple WIDE cracks around the perimeter of the wheel itself. This was a really challenging area to get to look "right".

Thanks!
I smoothed and painted the steering column a couple of weeks ago. I just need to re-assemble and take pictures.

Been working 6 days a week in two jobs and doing the daddy daycare thing since school's out. I haven't really done much. I do need to get pics of the column and finish it off....

Allright, finally got off my dead a$$ and did some on the column to finish it off. I really should've taken before pics but never thought about it. Column was a manual 3 onnatree, teal green and had been in a car sitting with the windows down for quite a few years. I shaved the stub and filled in the hole for the shifter since I'm running a manual valvebody t-flite.

Overall I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out. This is just me doing my best on a very minimal budget and building a car I can beat on once in a while.

Minor progress
Bent, cut and flared the lines for the dual bail conversion. I also cleaned and ended up painting the engine compartment lines to preserve them.

Got the drivers side fender in PPG DP90LF today. It turned out very nice with the only issues where the primer soaked into the skim coat over where the emblem holes used to be. I'll rough it up with a scotchbrite and it'll look uniform.

Here is a shot of where they normally rust through. My other fender was good but this one was REALLY nice:

Couple more of it bolted on the car. Still need to tweak it some to get the seam between door and fender narrower. Door needs to move up some since it's really close at the back. Hanging sheetmetal is a PITA!

Shot one of the interior while I was out there. Seats aren't bolted in place yet. Still need to get carpet and get the steering column bolted in.

Bolted in the steering column today. Really happy with how it looks. I need to break the bank and buy a speaker grille or have something fabbed up I suppose...
