My 727 TF came apart yesterday(no forward gears or reverse). Who and what should i get put in the new trans. The guy i bought my car from couldn't tell me much about the trans except it had a trans brake and 277 first gear set in the trans? The car is a 1970 plymouth gtx about 3500lbs,540ci pump gas motor 550-600hp,727TF and a dana60 4.10 gear. I'm just starting to build a new motor around 800-900hp so i want to make sure the new trans will survive when i install the new motor. Thanks for any and all info.

with that kind of hp i dont think you will need a 277 low gear set.

I would (and do) use either Turbo Action in Florida or Pro Trans in Lancaster,CA for that kind of HP levels. the old motor sounds pretty weak at that HP with that C.I. What other parts, heads, intake, carb and size , camshaft grind and type, are in it?

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)
