This registry is for Dodge trucks from 1972-1980. I currently have over 350 trucks in my database. I also include the 1970-1971 Dude package trucks, 1981 W150 and Ramcharger Macho package trucks as well as the 1987/1990 Rod Hall package trucks.
Of course, the staple trucks are invited too. That being the Lil Red Express, Warlocks, Machos, Palominos, Big Horns and True Spirits.

I take any and all information on any truck from this era. So if you have a 1975 regular cab Custom D100 slant 6 w/no options shoot me what ya got.
This is what I would need:
VIN number
outside color
interior color
transmission
front and/or rear axle size
gear ratio
any extra cost options(Adv SE, tach, tuff wheel, paint procedure, wheels etc...)

If the truck still has the underhood equiptment label, i would like those codes.

If the truck still has the radiator support tag (commonly known to car guys as fender tag) the info off those.

I would appreciate any and all info. You can be completely anonymous or give out your name and such.

MachoMan
I have a 1978 D150 Pickup. Short bed, Reg cab, black on black. VIN#d14bf8s144882. I recently put a built 383 w/ 727 under the hood. The truck came with air, cruise, tilt, cargo light, 40/20/40 cloth seat, tach and vacuum/volt guages. It has an 8 3/4" w/489 center. Not shure what gear ratio is in it, but it runs about 70 mph @ 3,000 rpm Currently looking for 15x8 or 15x10 steel wheels for ther rear as i plan to put on P315 70 R15 BFG's.

What about trucks that have been parted out and will never see the road again?

no, this was an unattractive two tone green. i've seen many trucks with this combination too. i found a black dash in perfect shape, the part in front of the driver, i dyed the glove box cover. the original door panels are kinda ate up but may be serviceable. i'm going to replace them with full length panels i found in a boneyard. i replaced the seat with one from a 94. the only things i haven't changed yet are the visors. if i can't find a pair of black ones i'll dye them. the material on the seat was ripping up. gonna get some pics soon. she's still a work in progress.

Hey Macho,

Here's the info on "Old Blue"

1977 D-150 Adventurer
D14BF7S171***

I do have the option list under the hood but it's
hard to read

some of the options
360-2bbl california emissions, 727 Auto, 8 3/8 rear end(small),long bed w/ tool box in the side of the bed, blue interior and 2 tone blue exterior(med blue above trim and roof, light blue below), A/C, Vinyl floor, Vinyl bench, Heavy springs front and rear (can't read the spring rate)20 gal tank, chrome trim (drip rail, down the side of truck 1/2 way up, tail lights) push pads on front bumper, rallye steel wheels w/ center cap and trim ring. attached is a retype of the equipment label. done on microsoft word. If you can't download the file, let me know and I can retype to the page.

My plans are to restore (after I'm done with my Superbee)to stock apearing but will put a stock 440 in it, 8 3/4 rear end, carpet, and recover bench with cloth. The last things I need to start restoring is a correct bed w/ the tool box and the chrome trim that runs the lenght of the truck. I'll send pictures of the option list soon.

I have a 1979 dodge W150 swb PALOMINO. It was an odd-ball truck, as it was fairly loaded up, but came from the factory with a 4spd and no a/c. Attached is a pic of the window sticker. It is in the process of a restoration, and I have added factory a/c to it allong with the big bolt pattern axles to it with the 5 slot wheels. The VIN is as follows.... W14JT9S195981. This truck came out a Wrecking Yard in Northern CA, and I am glad that I saved her!! I have a couple of these trucks now, and am getting another PALOMINO from VA that is also a 4wd.

Dinuba, California, Home of the PALOMINO ranch and 440 truck farm, where dodge trucks have a home. Have Four 1979 dodge PALOMINO trucks now.

I primered the truck light blue about 2 yrs ago because the surface was starting to rust.I remember when my grandfather drove the truck and the 2tone paint was nice, I plan on repainting it to original color when I find the trim that separates the two colors( about 3-4 inches down the frt. fender and runs frt. to back to the top of the tail light). Gotta say I'm a superbee fan, been restoring my bee for 6 yrs now, but you guy's are getting me excited about the trucks. Can't wait to start the truck restoration. One question for you, do you think I should go with a 440 or keep it original with the 360 2bbl?
Also, Old Blue, my ramcharger, and the Bee are
on the picture page 3
Thanks, Moparmike23

Hey machoman,
Getting back to you on the macho truck i put in your registry. The truck was a factory short bed. The truck had all its factory paint on it when we purchased from Chuck Peirce in New Hampshire(A well known mopar restorer). As for pictures all i have is pictures of it after the restoration. My brother painted it all black and put 79 decals on it. That was back in 1996 when we knew nothing about these trucks and how rare they were. We sold the truck in 1999. Now it's in the Mass. area and i cant seem to find it. I still have alot of the paperwork on the truck and even ran the vin# at the police station to see if i could find it. No luck! If i ever find this truck again I would redo it the right way with the silver and black macho sceme and put the right year macho decals on it. The truck had a nice body with really nice black interior. The sunroof was broke and leaked so we siliconed it in.

I have a 1978 Dodge Macho Powerwagon. 318 2bbl (for now)727 with np203 transfercase. Dana 44 front and I think 8.25 rear with 3.55 gears. Pretty much stock at this point. I started the restore 2 years ago and finally its coming to a close. The original color scheme was orange and black with black interior. I'm keeping the interior but the exterior will be solid orange. It now has 33x12.50 tires and aftermarket wheels. I found it sitting in southern Indiana for $600 bucks. I've also located a dodge junkyard in southern Indiana if anyone is interested. Also in case someone wasn't aware the military used these trucks for years it was known as the m880. www.saturnsurplus.com has lots of parts for these trucks at really good prices. Love the thread!

I have a 1978 Big Block Crewcab Shortbed 3/4 ton pickup and a 74 D100 318/727 Long bed 8 3/4 truck I will get info this weekend. Both are for sale if anyone is looking....

The Crewcab's info is 1978 Big Block Crewcab Shortbed 3/4 ton, Engine unknown had 440 in it before I got it (I presume that's what came in it and have no idea how to find out).

Pics are here for now...
http://www.cdwmotorsports.com/Vehicles-For-Sale.htm

VIN number D26BJ8S277895
outside color Green
interior color Green
transmission 727
front and/or rear axle size Dana 60
gear ratio unknown

any extra cost options(Adv SE, tach, tuff wheel, paint procedure, wheels etc...)

If the truck still has the underhood equiptment label, i would like those codes.

If the truck still has the radiator support tag (commonly known to car guys as fender tag) the info off those.

original 360, 727, now 318, 4.10 gears (the thing hates the freeway ), A/C, power Disc brakes, long bed, cruise control, monotone tan, dual gas tanks (if anyone can find me a lower tank, i would appreciate it. mine leaks when too much gas is in it.), power steering. it still has the underhood sticker, but it is pretty hard to read. i would post a pic, but it is illegible. sorry.

ok, here is another odd ball truck.....
1980 macho power wagon. it is in a wrecking yard, and was hit hard on the right front. It is a fairly basic power wagon, here is the equipment that I saw that it has.....
318 4bbl
auto transmission
dual tanks
had tach
and that was what I could see of it. I did grab the underhood plate off of it, and here are the numbers.....
019153 W1 115 CONV CAB S6
PY8805 PZ4011 PXY
W14JEAS119035 HG077101

This is a factory "IMPACT BLUE" macho power wagon!! Interesting huh..

here is another interesting find.....
1978 trailduster sport 440. This one has been in the wrecking yard for about 15 years now, and was a super nice rig when I first saw it. It was a roll over, and was also low mileaged too. All that is left of it is the roof and front clip. Here is the info off of the underhood tag.......
80858 PW1 106
PY8752 PZ1417 PXS
AA0BD8S150966 PC833701
This was a blue and white 2-tone trailduster that was loaded up.

VIN number: A10BD8S273817
outside color: A2 metallic silver
interior color: blue
transmission: 727
front and/or rear axle size: Dana 44 and 9 1/4
gear ratio: 3.55:1
any extra cost options(Adv SE, tach, tuff wheel, paint procedure, wheels etc...): SE, cruise control, A/C, factory 100 amp alt., bucket seats with console and heavily restified by me.

If the truck still has the underhood equiptment label, i would like those codes.

If the truck still has the radiator support tag (commonly known to car guys as fender tag) the info off those.

I would appreciate any and all info. You can be completely anonymous or give out your name and such.

Ok I have a 78 LRT that is low optioned but does have suregrip 3.55s. Never restored and is my daily driver 80 miles round trip. It gets 15 MPG @ 65MPH. It has 220K miles. Vin is D13BS8J517224. I am the second owner and the orignal owner has past on to the great Mopar Heaven. He said that the engine has never been out but the Vin dont match the engine number. The engine build dates on all the parts are from 1978. Add this one to the list. My son is working on a 66 LWB Poly 318/A727 but its not in your years. DaveJ

Hi, I had a really neat truck several years ago. It was an Adventurer SE regular cab, longbox, with the following options: 440/auto, air, tach, dual tanks, lots of chrome, and trailer towing package. It was red with a red interior.
It was rusting pretty badly, so I basically swapped everything above the frame and ended up rebodying it to a club-cab shortbox, putting all of the stock options back in and changing the colour to Alpine white.
I ended up keeping the build tag, and this is how it reads:
Top - 33164 D15 131 CONV CABS74
Middle - PY1417 PZ3441 PXT
Bottom - C1 4B08S138201 AC030501

Maybe you might be able to tell me what I had from this.
Thanks

D14ABAS014*** Early build, 09/73. Green with black interior, NO options, Originally a Slant Six/3 on the Tree SWB. Now has a 318/auto

D14AF3S022*** Another early build, 09/72. Cab only at this point, originally a brown/white Adventurer SE Reg. Cab LWB. 360/auto, not real sure on what options it had only it was an SE.

D14JE9S221*** 04/79. This one is also a cab only. Started life as a '79 Palomino. I remember the Truck in the JY before I bought the cab. Actually, I bought most of it except frame, engine, and bed (bed was gone already as was the rt fender). Started as anb Adventurer, tan/white on Tan. Tilt column, not real sure what radio. It also HAD a buildsheet that I saw and option sticker but by the time I got back for the cab they were GONE. Had air/PS/PB also and a light package.

D17AF3S206*** Built 07/73. Club Cab parts Truck. Originally an Adventurer. Not a stright panel on it, this one is for parts!

D14BB7S224*** 08/77 build. Was a Blue '77 Adventurer, low options (manual brakes and no air, though it has an AM/FM radio), started out as a S6/auto truck, rubber mats even.

D14AN9S 135*** Built 10/78. Brown on Tan '79, low options (manual brakes, no air, but PS), Slant Six/4-spd granny LWB.

Found a 78 440 Ramcharger SE in a JY today in Santa Paula CA. this RC had all of the VIN's off of it, but appeared to be stock factory. Was a loaded truck, I determined that it was a 78 by the fact of the tilt coloum and the amber lenes. Was canyon red sunfire metalic above and below mouldings, and canyon red in the center. loaded truck, but gone now. My guess is that it didn't pass emissions testing out here, body was CHERRY!!!

Well I know it has been awhile but I figured I would update you guys on my trucks. The 74 is all but gone. The 78 Crewcab that was a 440 shortbed truck is getting the body taken off and sat on a 93 Cummins d350 chassis.

I will give you as much info as I can on the 440 truck and get the rest tomorrow.

VIN number
outside color Green
interior color Green
transmission 727
front axle D60
gear ratio
any extra cost options(Adv SE, tach, tuff wheel, paint procedure, wheels etc...)

If the truck still has the underhood equiptment label, i would like those codes.

If the truck still has the radiator support tag (commonly known to car guys as fender tag) the info off those

2wd lwb prospector packageI 360 4bbl VIN "T" automatic, no a/c pretty basic truck, except that it has the big factory trailer tow mirrors(not the 3pt mirrors) like the one's that come on the 1 ton trucks, and had a factory transmission cooler on it, but no tow package what so ever. came out of the central ca area. 74,000 clicks on the odo, but has a rod knocking.....bummer

Hi MachoMan
10 years ago I restored a 78 150 Prospector for a friend of mine. last week he calls me to tell me he just brought a new Hemi truck. Anyway because of the massive amt. of work I had done on it he gave it to me.here is the stats.
225 super 6
4 spd. trans.
8 3/4 rear not sure ratio
man. steering
man. brakes
92k orig. miles
color gold ext.with orig.white prospector logo & pin stripes, tan int.
this truck is as bare bones as they get not even a radio but he all there and all orig. right down to the carb.pics to follow.
Thanx Ed

I've had a few Dodge trucks in the past.
Here is what I can tell you for now:

1976 Dodge Power Wagon Adventurer Sport
orange (not sure the name, but it was like Vit. C)
400 2 bbl, buckets, two gas tanks.
VIN W14BJ6S292382

I sold it six years ago on the bay to a guy in Green Bay WI
it wsn't running when I sold it and it had a replacement engine due to the original cracking at the oil pump. It was the coolest truck I've ever owned.

1978 Dodge Power Wagon Prospector.
This one was bought as a work truck and was later parted out. It still ran real strong, but just wasn't needed and I couldn't find a home for it.
VIN is unreadable on the data sticker, but I might have it on an old registration.
Codes as follows
GH4
CP1
DS5
FA3
HE2
HHC
HL7
LF3 Tilt Streering wheel
LG5
NH5
SF1
SJ1
WL8R
WR1R
YW3
PY3441 Canyon Red Sunfire
AB3
DF1
EC1
HA8
HF3
HK4
LB2
BF5
BJ1
RB4
SJ6
WL8F
YA1
PP6681

I've had a 78 Std cab short bed 318 four speed D100, a Crew cab long bed D200 318/727, a 78 D100 /6 auto, an 84 /6 4 spd D100 long bed and I might acquire a D200 camper special with a flat bed for parts soon. I'll try to post more VIN's if I can dig them up.

By the way, I'm new again to the site, I lost my original log in info and couldn't get logged on for some time. Began selling parts on here in the late 90's. It's good to be back.

Well, thanks to another moparts member, another PALOMINO was found in PA. It has the rust gremlins attacking it, but it is still there, and under 100k miles. it is spec'd out with the following....prospector package 1, 360 2bbl "F" code, 4speed manual, 3.23 gears, original am radio, chrome rear bumper, and convience package. fairly basic other than that.

Looks like I will soon be the proud owner of a 1980 dodge "Big Horn" truck. fairly loaded "E" code 318 4speed, factory a/c. Just a neat old truck, and is in good shape considering it was in missouri/illinois its whole life

here are some pictures of the bighorn. it is a 40 footer, and is VERY RUSTY, which kinda pisses me off!! It was equipt with the following options:
318 "E" code 2bbl
NP 435 transmission
factory a/c
3.55 gears per axle tag
sure grip per tag and feel
dual tanks
had factory clock(el cheapo tach installed)
am/fm stereo(door speaker holes enclosed for why???)
protection package
convience package
adventurer package(has partial sport aluminum door panel inserts and bright moulding on dash)
I have already put on my 2nd set of slots on it, which made a HUGE DIFFERENCE! I also removed the running boards too....what a difference!!

Previous owner passed away and husban parked it under an oak tree for many years.I traded an old boat for it and had to replace the fuel lines, fuel tank, brake calipers wiper motor, and put a kit in the carb. It now run very well.I am going to repaint it. The tree sap destroyed the paint.
Can any of these numbers tell me what the gear ratio is?

original color was brown, but it is now primer gray. i think the inside color was black, but it was mostly gone when i got the truck. it is a 4 speed (granny gear) 4X4. the axles are either 3.55 or 3.73, not sure exactly. it is an original A/C truck, Disc brakes. thats pretty much all i know about it though.
for pictures go here.

I just picked up a Li'l Red Express earlier this evening, for a good price! (ive been eyeball'n the truck for a few weeks now...) with 135,000 original miles, the motor's blown but the body is great! its a 1978 with what looks so far to be original paint, seats, motor, trans, diff and wood in the bed. the stacks are missing but it doesnt look like they were cut... was the exhaust piping up the back of the cab an option? there arent any holes in the stepside "steps" as provisions for exhaust pipes either. HMMM?

Hey there, sir. i recently purchased a Red Express truck, from my work. (a Las Vegas Dodge dealership, where someone had used the truck as a trade-in for a new Ram truck.)
Vin: D13BS8J512943. the stacks are missing, but the body is super sharp- the paint is faded, the seats are original and the motor is blown! Yeah! Im starting the tear down next weekend- so i can get you the serial numbers from the block, fender tag and anything else- now that i have your list of things used to identify a monster such as this.

I have a 1985 Dodge RAM 350, non dully, conventional cab, long bed, 2 wheel drive, it has no air conditioning, no radio and no power steering, 360 engine with 4:10 gears. It has 33,000 actual miles and runs perfect. The only draw back is it gets 8-10 mpg. I presently have it under a cover until gas prices get better-lol.

Recently bought a 77 2wd shortbed fleetside that is a factory Bright Orange truck. Bought it 6 miles from my house, from the second owner who inherited it from his uncle (the original owner) in 1981. Was 225 with a 3 on the tree, now has a worked 318 and a 727. Will update with numbers and pics soon. Wondering how rare bright orange is/was on these trucks?

Buy a Hybrid!! I need your gas!!! Currently spending $1,000 a month to feed the Hemis!! Looking for that elusive CHEAP 71-72 Plymouth B-body 2 door OR 71-72 Coronet 4 door!!!

I have a 1980 dodge w150 sport adventurer package. I got it from my grandpa who bought it brand new. I've put a 318 in it with the factory 727. It has a 9 1/4 rear end with a detroit locker front and rear. 35" bfg mud terrains, but not for long i ordered a set of 35" pitbull rockers for it. 2 inch rough country lift kit. Has a little rust here and there but everything works, p/l, p/w a/c cruise. The only option it doesn't have that i can think of is delayed windshield wipers. i have a couple videos of it on youtube on my channel gotchan32 . I'll post the vin friday when i go back to my parents to pick it up. I just got done pulling the transmission to fix a front seal leak.

Hey all! I just picked up a 1980 W150 for Christmas. It is missing the fender/radiator tag, so if anybody knows where it is, let me know. Here's the options as it sits now (no way to verify originality until I start pulling it apart):

VIN: W14JEAC111619
outside color: Med Blue Metalic w/either Bright Silver Metalic around the beltline.
interior color: Black bench, black dash
transmission: Auto
front and/or rear axle size: Dana 44 up front (don't know ratio yet), 9.25 out back (ratio unknown)
gear ratio: unknown
any extra cost options: Says Adventurer SE on dash, aftermarket sunpro tachon right side (might have replaced an original), woodgrain on wheel and dash, 2-tone paint blue surrounding silver beltline), chrome wheels w/front lock-outs, Quad headlights, A/C, Sunroof, Sliding back window, shortbox sweptline.

Couldn't find the underhood equipment label.

Don't know if this is a truck you'd want in your registry or not. But here it is:
1976 Dodge 1/2 ton Adventurer Sport
two wheel, power steering, power disc breaks
Delux interior/AM/FM radio, cruse control, A/C
360/727
9 1/4 rear
Factory (ralley?) road wheels
And I have the build sheet (although it's still under the seat), like to find out where it was made.
Thanks

Hi machman
i have an 1977 dodge w100. I always thought it was a power wagon but have recently been told it wasnt.

VIN - W14BF7S06xxxx
Exterior - baby blue, not original color that i believe is a darker blue.
Interior - blue
Tranny - ?
F/R axle size - ?
Gear ratio - ?
Adventurer is on my dash
Like i said i thought this was a powerwagon adventurer but im still learning about the truck. I have had it since 2008 drove it from ca to id and back and now we are having problems getting it to run again we have been putting parts for a w150 on it should that matter. Any infor as to what to call it ie power wagon, adventurer, warlock or what ever type of model it is.

Thanks

I've got a 1972 W200 chassis cab, vin w21bf2s580762,360, 727, p/s,p/b. Per paperwork, it was ordered by GSA for U.S. Geological survey, they were ordered on 11/19/1971. "truck, cab and chassis, gasoline, 4x4 commercial 2 and 4 door cab, type VII/C item 72, Int. Fed. Std. No. 00292a (GSA-FSS). Quantity 25 at a unit price of $ 3685.00 each. Assembly point: Dodge truck plant, Warren, Mi.
When I bought the truck a couple years ago from it's second owner, he gave me the original Gov purchase order, along with the typed in info, it had some hand written info.
Std: power booster
240 Hp v-8
Automatic trans
Winch.

It came with a Koenig PTO winch, and had a utility bed installed on it. I've also got an official memo, on Gov letterhead
To: all field men assigned 1971 and 1972 Dodge trucks
From: chief, branch of field surveys
Subject: vehicles= power winch operation

Did you Macho have a 400 and a sunroof? sold on eto him like that a while ago...

Hello, my name is Steve, I just purchased a 1976 Dodge Adventurer SE D200. It is dark brown/gold metallic, and is a automatic 727/400 engine truck. It originally had a 360 engine in it. It has a Dana 4.10 rear axle, dual tanks, cruise control, and factory air conditioning. It has the 16.5 inch rims that take 8.75 X 16.5 LT tires. It has almost zero rust and I plan to restore it while I drive it. The interior is saddle tan/brown and has a bench seat and a factory sliding rear window. I will send you a picture of the data tag, unfortunately there is no longer an underhood equipment label. It is a standard cab long wheelbase truck with power steering and brakes. The vin# is D24BF6S318989. The truck is not currently at my house, so I don't have the fender tag information, I will send it as soon as I get it.

It's a shame you don't accept B/MB Vans into the registry.

I have a 1972 Adventurer SE D100, regular cab, long box.
VIN D14AE2S501854
I believe it is a very early production truck, possibly built in July 1971.
It is currently on a 1977 D200 frame which I haven’t found the VIN for yet. It has a 1976 360 with a 727 behind it.

Hi all,

just thought it´s time to introduce myself...
I´m reading by for some time now and enjoy moparts a lot. up
I´m built in 1972 and live close to Frankfurt / Germany.
My wife and me own two excellent compact vehicles to get around the city.

First is:
1975 Dodge Ramcharger SE, AD100, 360, 727, 8 1/4, 3.55:1
VIN: E10BF5X109906
Imported in 2005 from Loveland / Tennessee with aproximately 1 Zillion miles on it.
I made over 100k miles with it between 2005 and 2013. Then 4 years of nut and bolt resto...
It's fully loaded with SE Package, PS, PB, factory tach an clock, A/C, speed control, 35 gallons tank, towing package.
It has a dual battery setup and i added a seat heating during restauration.
Engine has been redone with 10.2:1...
Hardtop and softtop.

Unfortunately I don't know a lot about it's history... no build sheet, no hood tag

Hi,
here's the second one:
1973 Dodge D100 Adventurer SE, 360, 727, 8 3/4, 3.23:1, 131" wb
Imported in 2010 from Pennsylvania, exceptional survivor with less than 20k miles on the clock when we bought it.
Also fully loaded with Adventurer SE Package, PS, PB, factory tach and clock, A/C, speed control, tool box.
I'm the third owner. First owner drove it til '79, got sick and died, then the D100 spend almost 25 years in a dry storage until the second owner bought it.
The truck has still it's original production check marks visible everywhere...
We use it as the first owner did. We do micro camping all over europe, visit drag races and events at weekends. Since 2011, we drove about 30k miles.
Of course, only driven when steets are salt free.

VIN: D14AF3S196749
