Nail + Loni. Simple math for most I think. I had a co-worker shoot me with with a 1/2" crown 3" long staple years ago. It went through the joints of two fingers on my left hand. The same guy dropped a beam on my face & broke my nose years later. We have called him "Johnny Hurt Me" ever since. The largest splinter I ever had actually involved the same two fingers. It was about 6" long & about a 1/4" wide at the middle. It went through both fingers sideways through the back side. It took a while to chop it up & remove it completely. I had to show it to everyone on the job before removing it though.

You will be safe as Alaskan_TA will absorb all the damage. Kinda like a staple and splinter magnet.

Oh, and the pressing question...
Flat blade or Phillips ?

No, that was back about 1977. I simply pulled the screwdriver out, bandaged my hand with a paper towel and electrical tape and kept working. It was a clean entry and did not hit anything important on its way through. It did look freaky when it was in there.

Did anyone give you a hand ?
And was the electrical tape rated for blood containment?

Not a lot of blood. Electrical tape sure comes in hand-y sometimes.
