Ok it runs..Jenni can race her car next week,,Got to stay in the points at the home track..This is a stock 73 440 looks like 902 heads ? Has a RV cam in it. Thats what I was told. No one know for sure what it is. What NGK plug number would work in this..and I put my old 800 holley on it..jet 71 front with a power valve and 76 jet in the back. 35 deg timming. ???sounds ok ? anyonr know what squirter should of been in this carb ? I got 42 in it with 50cc pumps I would think that would be too much for this. Thanks as allways. Jamie

Why not run the Quick Fuel Carb?

start with 28-31 squirters if you have twin 50cc pumps.

I would think a carb that flows over 900 cfm would be way to much for a stock 440. thanks tony.

now a plug number ??

R5670-6 is the NGK racing plug equivalent to a stock 440 plug like a J11y or RJ12yc. You can change the -6 to -7 to go colder, like a J10y.

I would run a autolite #75 or maybe a #74, 33 sqirters or at the most a 35 squirter Low compression motors don't like cold spark plugs and a lot of squirter

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Well I dug around and found a 31 squirter and put in the front. don't have two of them. and took the power valve out. and made the carb 78-78. going to run the R5670-6 that = autolite 74 .the power valve was a 6.5 But I don't know where it came from and this old carb does not have blow out protecion..thought I be safe this way.

I put my 930 0n a stocker, and havent been able to match it with any smaller carbs. Next race we're trying a fresh 750 hp ,,so we'll see about that. Go big or go home.. its still a 440 . Also, the xr5 is a good stock ngk for that appl.
What's it gonna run??
I'd say 12.40s with a smallish convertor and 12.0-12.1 with a hi-R convertor...

Should of put my quickfuel carb on LOL..I know you told me to !! I keep jeting up this 800 and it keeps going faster..never thought a stock 440 would like that much..got the 42 squirters back in it..likes that and I am up to 88-88 jets.. and it want more..I going to put my Q/F carb on tomorow morning .. see what it does.

7.90s out of a junk yard 440.. 1/8 mile in a 3700lb car..

You guys did good, helped yourself with the points, She's giving up a second, car won't react the same, less power, but She still did good. I found my Leak, made the little device you told me to, and Pressurized the convertor and it's leaking at the base where the snout is welded.Time to take back up to Quick Draw. PTC put that snout on it in 07 and I think it has been leaking ever since, but it has gotten a lot worse lately. I changed seals and pump bushings probably 3 or 4 times trying to get it to seal up.

How much quicker was the quick fuel over the 800? My guess is that it was also more consistent.
