I have recently bought a set of 4 14x6 Motor wheels " Spyder wheels " for my car and id like to have them restored to new condition. They have a chrome plated steel rim with a Aluminum center welded in. Does anyone know of a shop that car remove the center on a lathe , rechrome the steel rim and reweld the centers back in to exact factory specs ?, thanks Moparts for the free post.

Ed, please let us know how you make out. Those are my favorite style mags from the early 70's.

What are they going on?

Use the search function for "Spyder Wheels" or "Spyder" for 1 year back.

There is a member in Missouri that has had his Spyders converted to 15x7 and 15x8 with stock ralley 4.25 and 4.5 backspacing respectively. He and his friends have a few cars with them. Look awesome in those sizes. I think the place he uses is in the midwest, I think Missouri also.

A friend of mine is a Motor Wheel Spyder freak, and he has a guy that does a fantastic job of restoring them. My friend is on vacation til the end of the week. When he gets back, I'll call him & get the contact info for you...

Doesn't he post here? I've seen pictures of a blue Duster/Demon and a red 68/69 B-body, IIRC. He described the whole process in at least a couple of threads.

Hardcharger65 have you searched "Spyder" yet?

Yes Ryan owns the Super Blue 72 340 Demon with the Spyders. It's usually his close friend "RM Mobarn" that does the actual pic posting of Ryan's Demon with the Spyders.

Excellent. Hardcharger65 just search Spyder and username RM Mobarn for two years. I guarentee he has posted where he got his rechrome and widened at. Please post the link here when you find it.

Sounds right, there were a few wheels made like that. They had steel inserts cast into the aluminum center, so they could be welded into the steel outer...

Could you post your findings on that thread so others can see it. Others are interested in rechroming and widening Spyders if we could get our hands on some.
