After a a bad weekend of breaking stuff at the track I towed the car home only to find that the cabinet door came open next to the car and mashed a hole in my windshield! Is there anybody that makes a formed Lexan windshield for a 1966 Dart? I'm wondering if this would be a good time to upgrade to Lexan, but I don't want a plain flat piece in the opening. Do you just use the stock window gasket with the locking strip on this type of car? It's not a windshield that gets glued in. Just figuring out my options. Thanks guys!

If I had mine to do over that's the one glass I would leave alone. It's much easier to clean and it won't scratch up like lexan no matter how careful you are.

I would stick with glass in the front, it's a much clearer view thru it and it isn't moving around down the track.

Ok. You are probably right. A new windshield is $250.00 and I can only get one with the tint on the top, but maybe I should just put the glass back in it again. Thanks.

I'll never own any lexan windows again. But if you go that route get the thick stuff so you don't have to run a brace up the center of the windshield.

Call Pro-Glass. It's expensive, but it is formed, thick, and VERY nice. Looks just like glass.

I can't believe so many bash lexan, mine is 3 years old and mr-10 coated 3/16's piece, Dad and I made it with cardboard cutouts and it looks as clear today as the day installed, no flex at all going down the track at 138mph.

And the weight savings is? probably not much for the extra cost, i'd go back to a glass

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

5 votes for glass and 2 for Lexan. I will still price out the Lexan and see what it costs over the glass. I'm still waiting on one quote for the glass. Anybody know roughly what the weight savings is? How expensive is expensive with Pro Glass?

Hey Dusty..I know this will sound silly since NO ONE offers anything for our Early A-bodies..but jegs has always carried a front windsheild for 63-66 Darts..i found the ad and posted the link here for you..they are on sale now..280.00 not bad.. but i do agree with the rest about the clear glass being better..i would care about any other glass in the car but the one that will clear easiest and wont catch the glare of the sun,,not to mention all the "NICE PEOPLE" who want to clear your window for you..meaning well but not sure how to clean it without scratching it up for you...just my opinion...im leaving mine glass up front.. http://www.jegs.com/i/Clear+One/194/4SO8/10002/-1

Wow. I had no idea. I never would have thought to look there. I can't believe they make one. But, after all of the comments, I think I'll stick with the glass. I know scratches will really bum me out.
I can deal with the extra weight. Thanks everybody.

tinted lexan doesn't show the scratches & polishes up real nice with car polish. mines 6 seasons old & still looks brand new. just need to take care when washing the screen thats all.
