65 polara the headlight switch broke. The spring that controls the panel brightness broke. Replaced switch with a recycled one from the yard, the back of the plug was the same, looked the same. I dont have running lights or rear brake lights now. It seems that I have a short some where because when I open the trunk lid the interior under the dash light comes on ever so lightly. I can turn it off by depressing the trunk lid switch. The interior dash light gets brighter when I push on the break pedal with the trunk lid open. Any ideas where to start?

everything was good until the HL switch broke?. Are the fuses good.

I feel really stupid but relieved, thanks, It was a fuse blown. The interior light coming on threw me way off base..... Thanks again
