I thought this would be simple but apparently the auto parts houses (O'Reilly, NAPA, Advanced) don't carry left hand threaded wheel studs in their inventory. Where can I pick some of these up? Apparently the nuts are readily available but not the studs.

Thanks.

Butch

Just checked the Year One catalog online and they only carry the R/H thread studs for Mopar. They sell one that states "will work on the L/H side" (that would be interesting) but no L/H thread studs.

Well, I can't argue with your logic. The car is totally stock and I've tried to keep it that way. So, I'd rather replace one stud than convert all to R/H....if it's possible. Beginning to look a little tough.

Check with Mike Ross (Hemicuda). He is making the Rallye lug nuts and was talking about making the studs.

No Mike said in the begining he didn't want to make the studs, he said he would make a R/H threaded nut with the bump & stanp L into it... But everyone said we need L/H threaded nuts so Mike tooled up & ran them but said in the beginning studs weren't available & it was gonna be a problem.. I'm not saying he won't make them, but I am saying he didn't want to go there because there are to many variables.. Kelsey Hayes or Bendix.. Drum or Disc.. Rear axle 7.25 8.25 8.75 9.75...

Left hand studs are going to be VERY hard to find , they stopped making them , if you get lucky you MIGHT find some at an OLD parts store , otherwise you are going to have to change them . I would not trust knocking them out of an axle or hub and trying to reuse them either .

It's needed for a L/H front drum/hub on a stock 1964 Plymouth Fury with 383. It has 10" inside diameter drum and the car was built in St. Louis. I mention St. Louis because I learned today that the Detroit built cars supposedly use a different stud PN.

I found an online reference source that says it should be a 610-135 stud (not the Plymouth PN) and a 611-026 nut. I've been able to find the nuts but the stud has been tough to locate. I've found a source for a used stud but would prefer using new.

It's amazing the conflicting information I've found but if you sort through it you can find what you need. But, it's been a real education process. I've learned more about 1964 Plymouths since purchasing this car 3-4 months ago than I've known about any car I've ever owned. Seems to be a matter of survival; you either learn it or you don't fix it.

Thanks!

Butch

nuts themselves are not hard to come up with.
All left hand studs were dis-continued last year from the manufacturer.

So what are all of the hardcore restoration guys supposed to do if nobody makes them anymore?

Please put my name on a couple of them if you will. I can either email you again or call, just let me know what you prefer. I don't want to take your entire supply but I'd like to have at least one spare.

Thanks,
Butch
