I'm working on my car and found this LOL . I knew the car had been hit after I bought it for $100.00 and it's not going to be a show car.






What do you guys think more spot welds . I do have a mig to do welding with or should I glass it back up and forget about it.I hope the shop that did the work is out of bussiness. The reason for removing all the filler from before is theres 6 layes or paint and primer with rust under it. You would think the car was painted atleast once a year with all that paint. thanks for the input

My is since you have started into it I would try to fix their screw-up and do right. Weld what I had to and make sure it stays away for a long time. I don't mind working on my cars but I prefer to drive them. If you get it right the first time you don't have to waste as much time down the road.

Filler will crack if put over a seam that is only spot welded. Must be welded solid. Of course you cant weld a continuous bead or you will warp the crap out of it.

yea I know I'll probly do about 1 inch then jump to another area probly take 1/2 of day to welder up. I'm kinda suprised it didn't crack before now but also not sure ow long it's been repaired eather it had about 3 layers of paint and primer each on it. it's been painted several times LOL

Which car is this your working on? the 5th or the Mirada? the Mirada might be worth the time and effort to do it right although as you stated your not going for show quality, and the deeper you dig the more worms you may find,could add up to some serious $$$$$ I would make the easy repair by welding it back up fiberfill back over,

Uh that looks like my quality of body work...

So far this is the biggest problem the rest of the car is nothing to get into shape> I guess I'll be welding for a few hours tomorrow hee hee hee and glassing it back up with a little less filler I hope but you never know.
