Is there enough info in the pictured attached to tell what car this 383 block I have is out of?

I'm no expert but it looks like there is a number missing from the vin.

1 = 1971 model year
E = Los Angeles plant
1 ? 5038 = last six of the VIN (missing one number)

I may be way off but that's what it looks like to me.

Somebody on this board will know what type of cars were built at the LA plant in '71

Actually, LA stopped building E-bodies sometime in May of 70 from what I have been able to determine so far.

So, it would have to be from a B-Body since it is a 383.
