I have had this car since 2003. I bought it off of ebay for a really good price. It was my first Mopar. Immediately (even before I took possession) I began to change it and make it my own.
It had been brought back to life initially by Hodge's Restorations in South Carolina. It has gone through a lot of changes since then, and I have grown immensely as a Mopar enthusiast/car guy.
The paint/body work that they did was average. Probably a 4-5 footer I'd say. Runs down low, thick filler in places, etc... Guys I know might disagree and say it was nicer, but it's my perception that matters, so the time had come and it needed to be redone after chasing down bad spots here and there from poor adhesion, etc...
I pretty much got the car to mechanically how I wanted it with a 480+ hp 408 stroker, reinforced chassis, tuned suspension, etc.. I actually spent more on the car AFTER I owned it than it cost me initially, if that tells you anything about what I've done to it. This car isn't going anywhere, so the dollars invested means nothing to me. So the car came apart last fall and I decided to go black.
It was originally a B5 Gran Coupe. Hodge's painted it EV2 with an AAR scheme in 2001, and now it is black with an AAR scheme... because really... what is better than a black on black Mopar? Nothing, that's what!
Here's a pic of the first day it arrived.

Thanks man. I'll start a thread soon on the Bee as well as I have made some progress.
Did you see the pics I had of it in the air removing the drivetrain?!?

Another.. I'm also taking the opportunity to weld in some XV inner fender braces, and a lower radiator brace. I had to modify it to fit, but I am installing one of their engine bay braces as well. So now with sub frame connectors, torque boxes, leaf spring reinforcements, and the above mentioned items, this thing is going to be ROCK SOLID!
Steve I believe you meant my son last summer while he was in Houston working for ExxonMobil. We have been working on our '73 to AAR clone for quite a while and as such I am interested in the inner fender braces you installed. Who sells those? FYI my son Kent ended up getitng a job with ExxonMobil and will soon be closing on a house. It has a two car wide but 44' deep garage. The original owner was a car guy and built a paint booth in 1/4 of the garage which means he will be finishing up the project in Houston so I can finally get started on a project for myself!

The braces are from XV Motorsports. Here's a shot of the lower rad. support they sell too.
Yeah, I remember ya. Sounds like he scored a wonderful garage... er... house..!
Tell him to keep on that thing. It'd be cool to meet up in the Cudas when they are done.

We are on the same path... a few years ago I bought the US Cartool subframe connectors and Harms torque boxes. I have replaced the front frame rails which I think are fine; however to tighten it up even more I plan to get some of the XV stuff.
What kind of exhaust are you going to use? The reason I ask is the sub-frame connectors make it more difficult for the side exit exhaust. I found a set-up by Spin-Tech which I think will work great.

I was kind of thinking that was a wasted effort as the car looked pretty darn good red, then you posted the black photos. Looks great!
Sheldon
It was orange, not red... I think the variation in monitor colors throws people off.
The orange was nice at first glance, but after a little inspection, you would have seen it had some problems. Plus, the big benefit here is that the body got worked over. It is a subtle aspect, but the lines are MUCH better now.

Ok, for those of you who have been following along... she is back home!!! I have to put her back together over my Christmas break, but at least my baby is back where she belongs. I really want to thank Steve and his crew at Paintshop101 in San Antonio for sticking this project out and not producing anything less than perfection. My project should have cost me twice what it did, but Steve stuck to his word like a MAN and did the right thing. If all guys were like him in the biz, paint/body guys wouldn't have such a bad name. If I were a rich dude, I'd have paid him more because I know it should have cost more. THANK YOU STEVE ENOCHS. You guys who are reading this, please help me pay him back and give him a shot on your next project. Here's Steve and I talking it over one last time.

After some medical setbacks and lack of time, I have been able to do just a few things to the car. It has been on a body dolly for months, and I was able to install a B body rear into it yesterday. Its nice to get the rear wheels back on the ground, if only symbolic.
That's a B body rear with SS springs and Dr. Diff's relocation brackets. I am running the Scarebird rear disk brake setup.
From swapping to the E rear housing to the B rear, I will be able to run a set of shared 15X10's (5.5" back spacing) that I'll use on both my Super Bee and my Cuda. When I'm not running the spare aftermarket wheels (most of the time I won't be), I'll use the 15X8 Rallyes I already own. The wheel adapters you see are there to put the wheel back where it was in the wheel well when an E body rear was being used. The B body rear is 1" shorter on each side, so these are 1" adapters. ALSO, you can't run the Scarebird disk setup with Rallyes unless you use these adapters because of interference. The adapters make everything fit and look just right.
I wanted to ditch the 8.75 rear in my Super Bee in favor of a Dana (High HP), so I literally had it laying around (now I have an E body 8.75 to sell instead). I invested in the relo kit and the adapters for about the cost of a couple of rims. So essentially these changes saved me the cost of two tires because I can share between the two cars and it saved me some space. Plus I didn't know going into this that the Scarebird disks didn't work with Rallyes... having them fit with these adapters was just a fortunate bonus!
Side note: I had some center bushings machined to press into the adapters for good measure. I didn't like how the wheel was going to only be supported by the lugs (as opposed to how the wheel also rests on the axle center normally). I also had to bend the rear sway bar ends in to fit with the different length housing.
