I know some of the Bogart, Monocoque and Holeshot wheels are similar, but they aren't "Flys".....I have a bunch of shots of Pro-Stock and Super Stock from the 70s. Leal, Bagwell, Carlton, Sox and a bunch of others. Need to try and find those pics. Love that old stuff. I have the HOT ROD with the Rod Shop team on the cover, including that cool Colt wagon, D/Altered car. Also have the one with the buildup of the Motown Missile Challenger. Monte

Chris2581 master Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 6,531 Jacksonville, FL	I remember a lot of these cars.We used to race at Maryland Intl Raceway(Budds Creek) in the early to mid 70's and these cars would always show up at the big Pro Stock race.I remember well seeing Herb McCandless,Grumpy,Dyno Don,and Malcom Durham go down the track all at one time 4 across !! I took a lot of pictures of these cars,I'll have to see where my folks have them stashed at and scan them. It also looks like Carlton is not only glad he won,but didn't have to wear those pants!! Nautilus Racing- We use Superformance gaskets and Turbo Action converters/products.

I was 7 years old and they never should have done it, it was a lasting impression. Getting old just means you were smarter than some and luckier than others.

They used to advertise all the big grudge races and exibition cars on the radio with great fan fare. I would pester my folks all week wanting to go. Somtimes they would take me. Then when I got older they would drop a friend and I off and pick us up later. We never stayed on the spectator side it was straight across the bridge that went over the staging lanes into the thick of it, I was a kid and that was my candy store. The track was sold after much pressure on Bill from the city of NRH and well to do property owners that came along well after the track was built. Bill went to Amarillo and operated a track there till he bought Texas Raceway and moved back to this area. Bill is gone now but his daughter still runs Texas Raceway and that track will probably come to the same end as Green Valley Raceway. Getting old just means you were smarter than some and luckier than others.
