what is the adequate size for a somewhat warmed over 360 (intake, carb, headers) i have a 19x19 3 inch in there now, but id like to try to get a 26x16 radiator due to ground clearance. what is the minimun size i need for a 360?

It depends on the motor and the climate I guess, I run a stock 26" rad with my 360 and cools great for the most part, but the temp does start to creep up when idleing for a long time. I don't think i'd want anything smaller in there but I don't have a shroud. A aftermarket aluminum rad probably cools a bit better, I'd think a 26x16 would be OK.

FWIW, in most cars, a 360 got a bigger standard radiator than a 318. The HD 318 rad is usually the standard 360 rad.

I'd definately go with a 3 core 26X16 radiator. you'll appreciate it on those hot summer days in the midwest when you want to cruise slow...

ok thanks guys, i was considering that but just wanted to make sure it wasnt overkill. now i just need to figure out the leak out the bolt and the exhaust flange and the fast idle problem and ill be good until i find something else.

hi
Mine is a 360 Magnum with a 7-blade fan, no shroud, 195 tstat, hi-flow w. pump, and a stock 340 radiator. Works just fine. Idling at a stop light for more than a couple of minutes gets it to 210, but never over. I am going to put a shroud and possibly a 80 stat in there, and I don't think it'll have a problem. I guess the stock 340 radiator is 22" with an 18" core (dual-core).
