I think that you will be wasting money. My 360 Scamp, has a 750cfm Carter afb. It has run a best of 11.46. Before I installed the Edelbrock heads, I ran 11.97 with a 625 carb and 11.86 with the 750.

I have run a 750 DP and 830 comp series holley, and neither one of them ran a good as a 800 holley that had been hand ported on a 12 sec 340 scamp

IMO, you would see much greater return on investment looking elsewhere.
Buy a good one(new carb) and tune it for your combination, no one has the exact same car as yours to make a carb custom for you. Your combination is not a exotic race combination so why waste the money on a custom made carb now
too,,I also have toyed with the Idea of a custom carb and have a hard time justifying the added expense, I would like to try one and just see if it really make's a difference, then that would help me decide if it's worth it or not, it would have to be a pretty big gain to go with one.

IM CONSIDERING TAKING THE PLUNGE FOR A "HANDBUILT" BIGGS HOLLEY CARB FOR MY .060 OVER 360 FAIRLY MILD 12SEC DART.PLEASE SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES OR PREFERENCES.I CURRENTLY RUN A 750 DEMON CLAW REACTION TIME THAT HAS TREATED ME PRETTY WELL.JUST LOOKING FOR A "LITTLE MORE" POSSIBLY WITH AN 830CFM.
JUSTIN
I bought a Pro Systems carb for my car and was very hapy with the result. It comes down to experience and time. If you have the time to work with a carb yourself and have some good support (books, buddies advice, ect)then just tune it yourself. If like me you don't have a lot of time to spend on your car the prebuilt units are a good way to go. You just have to make sure to buy a good one.
WHAT WERE THE IMPROVEMENTS YOU NOTICED,THROTTLE RESPONSE ,ETC.? FROM WHAT IVE SEEN PRO SYSTEMS AND BIGS ARE TWO OF THE BIGGER PLAYERS.

I think it depends on what you have if you already have a good Holley to start with just tune on it but if you have nothing and need to buy a carb anyway might as well buy a custom built unit just look at the price of say a Holley HP out of the box and compare it to a hand built unit not a lot of difference in price I got a 950 from Quickfuel and am very pleased with it.

I was there for that "on the spot" purchase. We were at the local Dodge dyno day and he made about 350 at the wheels. The shop owner asked if he'd like to try a 1000 PS carb instead of his 850 demon. Bolted it on, and jumped to 400+. That was just a demo carb, so he sent in the specs and got one custom ordered. Ihad to laugh when he wouldn't leave without the demo in the mean time... As a side note though, I had to try it too and lost 5 or 10 horse over my hand blended 929cfm holley. So they still may or may not need tuning to match your combo.

a carb built with exceptional parts is where my money would be spent and that would be Quickfuel.
performance wise they all do the same thing once they are right
