Have ST225-75R15 Load Range D 8Ply Trailer tires that need to replaced. Someone told me to differently go to Load Range E 10Ply. Price the about the same.
What brand do you guys use. I had Goodyear but I think that Brand name for trailer tires maybe overrated or over priced

I won't buy anything else than Goodyear Endurance now that they have proved to be SOOOO much better than their old Marathons and ANY Chinese tire! I don't care what they cost, I am tired of blowing tires!

I have had way too many ST "Trailer tires" go bad (come apart, blow out) on my Pace Shadow 24 Ft, enclosed car trailer with both D and E rated tires in less than 3 years of use and very few miles on them. The brand didn't seem to matter either
I almost switch to the G rated really expensive ST tires but I must have got lucky on the current brand of "Maxxis brand E rated225x75x15 Trailer tires on their now, they have to be going on 8 o 10 years I think.
I do run them at 85 lbs. empty and loaded , I have weighed it several times on the Oregon truck scales and it has never weighed over 9000 Lbs. hook to my 2006 Ram 3500 4x4 crew cab, that does add right at 700Lbs. more onto the trucks rear axle and takes around 250 Lbs. off of the front axle ready to go to the races when I was racing my old pump gas Duster that weighed 3450 Lbs. with me in it
I bought tires covers for them but I have never used them yet
I haven't used it much these last three years due to my wife getting sick with cancer and dying two years ago ,
I'm building a new car now and hope to have it ready to race late this year or at the beginning of next season
My message is to buy a good brand of the E rated tires (and pray )

Had the Marathons, good tread but older and low miles. Blow out two tires on the same side at two different times in the same day and not loaded.

I too am a big fan of the Goodyear Endurance tires. I had poor experience with the Marathons but so far the Endurances have been great. Worth the price in my opinion.

My first trailer came with Good Year Marathon 225 15's E (later switched to G) rated tires. They would fail quite often (usually tread separation or belt issues) I switched to a 235 16 Good Year Marathon (yes wheels too) and solved the tire failure problem with a side benefit the trailer seems to pull easier as well. The upgrade from 15 to 16 was recouped in less 15" tire purchases.
My big trailer has Maxon and they seem to be holding up well. 235 16 G's

I switched to Goodyear Endurance trailer tires in 2017 and will not go back to anything else. I have them on all three of my trailers.

I switched to 16 inch trailer tires because I got tired of the ST225/75R15 trailer tires blowing out.
The trailer is a 28 foot 10K lb trailer it's probably close to that between the car, golf cart and all the other stuff.

My buddy Clay K. quit using trailer tires because he was tired of constant blowouts and now uses nothing but 16 inch Firestone Transforce Truck tires on his trailers. He hauls two cars in the trailer, it's 38-40 foot long.

He hasn't had a blowout problem since he did the switch most of 10 years ago.

I couldn't find any 16 inch LT (light truck) tires that were rated above 2800 LBS 7 or 8 years ago, what are yours rated at and what size are you using now?

Mine are trailer tires, IIRC the size is ST235/80R16E. I'll have to look to be sure.

Clay and Rosie K. (NNS racers) are who are running the Firestone Transforce LT truck tires, what they had recommended to me and others for trailer tires.

They were kinds pricey, which is why I went with the 16 inch ST trailer tires.

My trailer really only get used maybe 3-4 times a year and only 1500-200 miles a year, whereas they're always on the road going to a NSS race somewhere.

I won't use LT tires because of the sidewall, plus being illegal in Illinois to use them and Illinois is constantly looking for revenue...

here in Pa., we call that "revenue enhancement".
