I had posted a pic of the roof before but these are more detailed of the damage, the repair is to follow as I am waiting on the roof rail segment from AMD. at some point it looks like it got hit above the A pillar, there is very little rust at the lead seam. Most of the rust is in the inner structure along the drip rail flange and roof rail.

Cut out a section of the inner structure to be reinstalled and the entire roof rail segment that was mostly compromised by the rust. The drip rail flange had also rusted away but I will add use panel bond between the surfaces to make a solid structural seal.

I will be adding more pics and how it gets reconstructed in a week or two.

the insane amount of filler on this car is astounding. I blocked down all that was on the driver fender to the tune of over 6 pounds. This fender did not have any damage other than a few dings here and there and 50 plus years of who knows what. The remaining filler is barely a skim coat but you can see layers upon layers that were removed. I will block it down more before epoxy and 2k.

One of the most important Mopar details is the curbside Pentastar, digging down 3/16 i found where it should be. blocked it flat and re-drilled the welded holes. Just the leading edge on the fender you can see the thickness of the filler.

These are great comparison pics, the driver fender shape as compared to sanded back to stock passenger side. The profiles really show how bad this car had mud plastered on.

Well I jumped around from task to task as my schedule allowed and waiting on a few patch panels to arrive. I revisited the fitment of the rear bumper, the re-pop doesn't have good shape to the stamping. since it needs re-chrome anyway, I trimmed and added as needed to correct the shape.

before and after pics

Back to the roof rail, the passenger A-pillar area has a previous repair, It had been welded in the glass channel and at an angle across the corner. The stories that can be asked about this cars history...

I did some massaging of that metal for a better shape requiring little filler. cleaned up what wasn't done well, added a few small patches along the drip rail, welded on the trim pins. I was able to sandblast and treat the backside of the roof along the seam since I cut out part of the structure, panel fit the roof rail and re-fit the interior structure I removed.

Onto the driver fender. No shortage of POUNDS of filler eek

The entire fender has dings dents and generally has been beat up its existence. the dogleg is wasted, rust and an dumbazz with a pick hammer just decided to pound and pave. This fender has alot of issues but is fixable with patience and work.

Like the rest of the car, 1/8" to 5/16" thick filler is everywhere hiding all the subtle body lines and details. The gentle recessed curve above the bumper was filled and flat, leading edge of the fender opening and grill surround, the wheel flare was non existent. CRAZY realcrazy runaway

Nice work on the patches. I have similar work to do on the doors of my Charger.

Two questions: How did all that gravel and what-not get behind that panel? Through the rust hole prior to previous repair?

Also, what is the copper colored spray you are using on the edges of these repairs?
