I'm looking for opinions or reviews on toolbox organizers. I just ordered Ernst made in the USA modular wrench organizer. It seemed like a good product so I thought I would give it a try.
There's a lot of socket organizers out there and I was wondering what y'all use for sockets?
And any opinions on Widget toolbox organizers? The website says 14,000 reviews but I can't seem to be able to read them plus I doubt they would have any reviews on their website that aren't positive. I did an internet search for reviews but I didn't find anything. They seem to be a little more expensive and (at least I didn't see it) but they don't seem to be made here.
Thanks in advance.

I made my own drawer organizers with foam sheets and a penknife--cut out shadows of each tool in the foam and organize them however I want. This was the way it was done on the flightline--makes it easy to put everything back where it goes and immediately see if something is missing. Sort of time consuming but foam is cheap. And you can make every drawer exactly how you want. I keep my sockets on rails organized by SAE/metric, size, and type. Also easy to see if something is missing. FOD kills!

All my drawers are full with everything for each drawer. I finally organized my socket drawers. Can't believe it took me 40 years to do so. No more digging through to find the correct size socket. Red are standard, black are metric in the garage tool box and blue are standard in my toox box in the race car trailer.

Exercise mat at wally world or AMZ works great. mine was blue so i used plastic spray paint to pain it black. Sockets are on rails, Wrenches on the slotted stand em up slotted thingies. other smaller items are in divided drawers with the sections labeled, and some plastic containers for tweezers feeler gauges etc.

Has anyone ever used the "Heat up your wrench/socket" and drop it into the foam mat to make the indentations?
Does it leave debris on your tool?

Can we get the Mexican cartels to help us with our supply chain issues? They don't seem to have any trouble getting stuff from one place to another.

Me too, but the toolbox is where I draw the line 😝

Does it leave debris on your tool? No, but I like this idea!

I can take the entire tray of sockets out in the driveway with me. Same with my wrench sets and same with my hardware bins.

I can take the entire tray of sockets out in the driveway with me. Same with my wrench sets and same with my hardware bins. I FRICKEN HATE LOSING TOOLS When I had employees we were all working out of the same box (mine and yes BAD IDEA). I was lucky in that for the most part they were respectful of my tools. At one point we began loosing screwdrivers. I couldn't blame them as I was out there as well. Reverting to the Kaizen seminars I had gone through, I thought about this for awhile. I went out on a Saturday morning and discovered several drawers were not organized with the tools just being tossed in them. I/we did the foam mat thing and haven't lost a screwdriver or other tool since except for a 10mm wrench left on a bleeder screw (my bad). That was ~ 20 years ago I don't do a lot outside but when I do I'll grab a plastic bin or bucket and toss what I think I'll need in it. When I'm done, I take the bin back and put the tools away. If I've left something out where I was working I'm immediately aware and go find it. Another item I'll use is a cart. Mine's only a two tier as it's easier to toss parts on the lower shelf. Comes' in real handy under the lift as the tools are readily visible. Again when done, put the tools away and if some thing is missing it's readily apparent. Ialso use the plastic bins when taking something apart. I put all the nuts bolts, clips, connectors etc. in the bin. IF it's an engine and trans removal I'll use 1 bin for the topside and 1 for the underside. Very handy to make sure everything gets back where it belongs without being lost. The bins are kept in the trunk etc. as it can be several weeks before reassembly When the job is done there should be nothing in the bin unless you know you replaced it

The Home Depot Husky brand used to make some awesome magnetic drawer dividers. They were discontinued for some reason. They work well for dividing up general area within a drawer. Maybe you can still find them out there?
