I wouldn't mess with any of it, no hellcat pump or anything unless I need more HP of course but they can make well over 500HP with long tube headers and good tuning.

yeah, I don't plan on mods, but was concerned with the lifter tick that could develop but haven't seen a good reason why other than low oil flow. That has nothing to do with them ticking. The lifter was updated with needle bearings made out of butter starting in 2009 and nothing you do will stop them from failing, it's just a matter of how long. They eventually re-upgraded to bigger needle bearings like the earlier ones had that are far less failure prone. A 6.4 has a bigger pump than a 5.7 and a 2009 up 5.7 has a bigger oil pump than the earlier 5.7, ironically they got a bigger pump the same year the bearing failures started.

thanks for the info. I did not know that. Unfortunately there is tons of really bad info out on these things from people who know more about making youtube videos than they do about how a hemi, VVT, MDS... actually works.

I'd follow HotRodDave's advice. I pulled my oil pan when doing water pump (I just kept removing stuff lol). '10 Charger Pursuit 80k miles at time. Here is what the pan looked like (before and after). My guess is that when I got the car and started using a good high detergent oil it loosened up some of this garbage. Amazing how well the car ran. 96k miles now and quiet as can be and I did not replace oil pump, just the gasket which was and still is leak free.
I bet your pan is clean though but you could do the gasket.
Facts are stubborn things.

I would install new pistons. Its a $1000, but i went thru it already. Tuner put in to much timing and blew the ring lands on about 4 pistons. I do another i will pull the pistons and put in MMX stock forged. IMO
