I’ve been buying up some R12 and I think I’ve got plenty plenty for my cars, but I ran across a guy with 2 of the 10lbs bottles and some cans. I can’t find any on eBay to compare. All I see is the freeze 12 or the 1234 replacement. Do they do the job? I’m sure R12 is the best but what is its value?

I'd say a minimum of $30 a pound.

the pricing and interest in R-12 has dropped the market pricing significantly as most have converted to the R-134 which is now being replaced by the NEW 1234YFA (I know that's not the right name but use your imagination 🎯🙄). Only the absolute purists are insisting on the R-12.

I have a case of R12 that's just sitting around I have no use for.

In it's heyday it was going for about $20 to $30 a pound.

People try to get that for it today but nobody ever seems to buy it.

It has dropped in value since the market is pretty small. Most hot rodders either don't want AC or go with an upgraded/aftermarket system.

I can use some since I have a couple cars that I still drive from the early 90's but people with early 90's and older cars that are in good enough condition to use it are a much smaller market now.

I have always figured if it comes down to $30 per pound or swap in R134 that I can buy anywhere anytime I'll go the R134 route.
