Who makes em for the 80s trucks with the 30 gallon tanks?
(Side tank, not the ramcharger tanks)
Also needing a sending unit that actually works and is accurate.
Exact truck is 83 D250.
I think current sending unit suction tube rotted off about 1/2 a tank level
Wasn't there a guy in Ohio that restored them?
After watching my son's headaches with 4 different Vans sourced ones I'm not interested. He finally got the one in his 72 fury wagon working by finding buying and installing an NOS sending unit at a swap meet and replacing the vans sourced one with that.

___ it's more complicated than just tank size. Frame height changes the straps too. Probably simpler to make your own, I used 1/8 x2" strap from the hardware store.

____ I actually bought one from the dealer about 10 years ago. Ebay should have them but better get a part number.

____ Sending Unit Repair and Rebuild, SURR is probably who you're thinking of. I used them once, wasn't thrilled with the quality.

If the only thing wrong with your current gas sending unit is the rotted off tube, that tube is brazed in to the sending unit base metal. It can be replaced with a new piece of the correct size steel tubing just by heating up the brazed area, pull the old tube out, insert the new tube and braze it back in. I did that several times for guys back when I was still welding. If you know someone that can braze, its not that hard to do.

When I closed my shop in 2018, I returned the gas welding gas tanks, so I can no longer braze or heat up anything.

The guy I was thinking about was named John... Something. Think he was in one of the close suburbs of Cleveland
