Did they have DART nameplates on their fenders ? I see photos with and without.
Wondering if that changed during the model year, or maybe some guys add/remove them.

69 340 cars could have a rear bumble bee stripe at no additional cost. If the customer chose not to select a stripe then it would have a
"Dart" nameplate on both fenders along with a decal "swinger" underneath the nameplate. I've seen restored cars with both and usually
when asked the owner said "I put it on cause I like the stripe ".

It's likely the answer to your question is found in the 1969 sales literature at Hamtramck Historical and/or the 1969 Mopar parts catalog here

Starting on page 23-100 of the catalog, there are dozens of illustrations of car exteriors showing every piece that the assembly line was supposed to put on the exterior of a certain model. You will have to search for the model that Swinger 340 belongs to. Unfortunately I have never found an index, so you will have to wade through all the iterations of Polaras, Coronets, Satellites, station wagons, etc..

If you know the part number of the Dart nameplate, you can enter the Numerical Index to see which page in the catalog mentions that part number.

This!

Thanks, guys - it's just a curiosity for me, as the only '69 Dart I've ever owned was a WSS 318 car.
Dodge may well have figured they'd save a few bucks on the striped cars, but that would seem to invite a bit of confusion/error on the fender nameplate.
I have the brochure - which are pre-production cars, often photo-retouched, and not necessarily 100% accurate.
Spec sheets I saw on Barry's Hamtramck site didn't seem to go into that detail, but I'll look again.
