So Cal

Just watched it!!
We have lived in SoCal for many years and knew many of the spots Freiberger covered.
I really enjoyed his commentary as he told the story.
We met Freiberger many years ago, plus we have met him @ the Spring Flinge too..

Just my $0.02... wink

Buddy sent me that, and I enjoyed it.
Saw many of the same places we used to cruise, street race, and do business with.
Dad took me to my 1st drag races @ San Fernando - Maxies, 22 Jr, etc. - later flew out of that airport in a buddy's homebuilt plane.
Van Nuys Blvd on Wed, Fri & Sat nights was hoppin' - cute girls, packed with cars - saw one building I recall as a "head shop", and I don't mean engines laugh2
I can spare you the list, and the stories, but yeah: the area was like race central in the '70s.

Sad to see the deterioration.
How does DF not know the difference between a Valiant & a Lancer - kids these days... laugh2

I think he owns stock in sandal manufactures. I don't get the long sleeve flannels with shorts either. It was interesting to see the pics from back in the day to now.

I read somewhere (Hot Rod?) a long time ago that the sandals came about in honor of his mentor, Gray Baskerville.
