I’ll look through my collection of gaskets. However, I read an old hot rod magazines article about base gaskets. They claimed the factory ones were too thick and people tended to tighten then down too much and warp the base. They cut some out of thinner material after they milled/replaced the warp base with better results. I’ve prob got some old ones but I use the thinner ones supplied in my Chicago carbs kits with no problem. I do remember the ones with REAR stamped on them. I think they were grey. I may have some. I doubt I’ve got any in oem packaging, though. I’ll look for you.

Thanks for the info. I am just getting some info on what came factory installed. I seem to remember almost a cardboard material.
I always use factory torque specs to tighten them. About 200 inch pounds, not much

They are tan in color & textured.

I can mail it to you if you like Bob?

Here’s what I found. Probably came from Bill Overcash stash I bought after he passed. About .070. It won’t let me post a picture from my iPhone

Never liked the OEM-style gaskets since I think they're so thick and don't seal well... IMO

The thin aftermarket style that I've used has no room for variation in surface contact between the cast carb bases and the intake mounting surface. "Old style" cast throttle plates do warp and crack, unfortunately.

I don't recall if I tried this approach w/ either of my old 6-BBL setups, but the thin gaskets coated with a light layer of grease could be a way to both reducing the warpage tendency and sealing the surfaces a bit better. I'd certainly give that a shot if I still had a Six Pack work

I've used both types of carb gasket on different six packs, cast iron and aluminum manifolds, as long as the base plates our flat and square to the manifolds they both have work fine up work shruggy

Thanks for measuring it, I scanned it before it left so I could add the thickness to a reference image.
